Re: NEW VR poll

Aside spotting, and craning your neck, how? Only the shooting must surely be much easier, even Ginger managed to kill me in a high speed high deflection turn this week from a distance and he was using VR. Honestly I felt safe because it's such a hard shot to make but VR seems to hand over a huge sh...

Re: NEW VR poll

I have VR and love it and the different perspective it gives you. I realize using VR puts you at a disadvantage against head tracker users, but I would rather have the better immersion. And the enhanced depth perception makes takeoff, landing, formation flying, etc. much easier.

Loved the movie! I saw it in the theaters when it first came out in the mid-60s and haven't seen it since...

Re: Do you see VR ever coming to CloD and do you think 1C will continue the partnership?

I'll have to disagree with Ginger in that I don't think you lose much eye candy in VR, it's just different eye candy. From an ACG point of view, to me the biggest difference between head trackers and VR is that the head trackers allow you to see more of what is around you since you can turn your "he...

Re: Help needed

Keep in mind that the new Intel CPUs cost more, but don't give a real performance boost for pure gaming machines, particularly BoX. So study the specs carefully. Personally, I'd stay with the i7's...

Re: Box Damage model

All reads well informed but In fairness to others I have lept on in the past, citation is needed to back up your statements please. You're right, I mis-remembered: Main members of the wing are the two main spars which support attachment of the wing to the fuselage and three auxiliary spars, one eac...

Re: Box Damage model

Coopes, here is some gun camera footage of a 190 attacking a P-47 at low level (where the 190 will easily out turn the 47). Both pilots appear to be good at their craft, but notice how little the P-47 is in frame in shooting position because of the turn. And at this level and apparent speed (judging...

Re: Old, confused and mostly noobish looking to fly again.

I don't remember the 56th... probably after my time. I was with the 555th FBS. There were originally about 25 of us. I can't remember exact dates, but we started with Air Warrior on AOL in the mid to late 90s, then moved to Aces High for a few years, then on to WWII Online. By then there were only ...

Re: VR With headset 100% on no more lifting it

I love voice attack. I've used it for years with Star Citizen -- I call my computer "Hazel" (since it is an uncommon word that works great as the activation word).

It would work great with VR in BoX but for me talking to a computer in the cockpit just wouldn't feel right in a WW2 aircraft...

Re: Box Damage model

Interesting, considering a lot of real gun cam footage i have watched, i have seen fighter's wings being plastered! If it was BoX damage model IRL i would have expected to see the code "jettison wing". When watching gun camera footage always try to determine if the aircraft being hit is pulling Gs....
