Using same folders in XP10 and 11

Post by Miki » Mon Jun 05, 2017 5:46 pm

Hi chaps,

I still have XP10 installed on my HD. For a good reason : the IXEG 733.
The aircraft isn't 100% compatible with XP11, at the moment, lacking some points in the flight model, like low drag, for example, that makes the descent a bit tricky(dev are working on it).

If you bought XP11 as Beta, you have free copy of XP10 available. If you want those two versions of X-Plane to be installed, you'll have to deal with settings and size on your HD. For the settings, you need to spend some times to do the two configurations. For the size of the game on your HD, it's mainly due to the sceneries you have.

For this point, what I've done, is a separate folder on my HD, where I've placed all my airports, mesh, sat pictures, libraries, etc.

To get those sceneries working on XP10 and 11, you have to create some short-cuts, and place them at the usual place, in each XP10 and 11 custom scenery folder.
Like this, you only need one time a scenery to be installed, for the two games.

Cheers.
