A stand of Defiant

Post by Tex » Mon May 22, 2017 5:19 pm

In honor of our most recent mission. Here is my almost completed Boulton Paul Defiant. This is the new Airfix kit in 1/48 scale. If you are into building, these new Airfix kits are a great value for quality and price. I always liked the looks of this plane and the fact that it was a bit of an outlier.

Beautiful work there Tex - I'd love to see some higher resolution photos so we can get a really good feel for the work gone into it :nice:

Verry good, subtle wethering, beautifull paint, I agree with Bunny she deserves larger pictures.

Here is my attempt at "larger" pictures. Thanks for all the kudos.
In these pictures, I am trying to highlight the exhaust smoke staining effect. I have been trying to capture the "white" staining I see in so many RAF color pictures. It is an effect that has been difficult to capture. This is a mix of oils, Tamiya smoke and pastels.
