A simple patrol mission deep into enemy territory that didn't yield any enemy but a shit ton of archie thrown our way.

New pilot 2nd Lt Casey 'Broadsword' Courtenay flew with us and it was Lt Angus 'Secu' Lond's 23 mission with us.

A patrol north that yielded no results but good banter. No claims made as we saw nary friend nor foe.

This was a patrol north up the lines and we found nothing but the sea. We took out a balloon since we were passing and wanted to vent our frustrations. Common consensus was that Cpt Nathaniel 'Pariah' Turner would claim the balloon.

Mission Date: 15-08-16
Time: 14:30

Incoming aeroplanes seen and we were scrambled to fly a convoluted pattern to look out for them. As usual no news on where they were coming from but we did soon find them. Flying, as usual, about 10,000 feet above us. We climbed and climbed but the DH2 is not designed for those heights and we failed to catch them. With a heavy heart I ordered the boys to return to base.

Pretty much sums it up anyway mate :D

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.

Mission Date: 16th August
Time: 16:00

An offensive patrol deep into enemy territory. We flew towards Zeebrugge before turning and heading for home. Broadsword spied three of the hun bastards up at about 15,000 feet. We all climbed to meet them, which took about half an hour or so. With skilful piloting we put them all down. Two have ended up as prisoners of war. Secu set one on fire and Jammy and Broadsword claim the other two.

This was the last mission flown by Cpt Nathaniel 'Pariah' Turner as shortly after witnessing the burning DFW he collided with 2nd Lt Elias 'Bunny' Parsons. He spiralled down from 15,000 feet. Somehow 2nd Lt Elias 'Bunny' Parsons survived the encounter but is wounded.

Mission Flown by:

Cpt Nathaniel 'Pariah' Turner
Lt Angus 'Secu' Lond
2nd Lt Abbott 'Nev' Bartelot
2nd Lt Casey 'Broadsword' Courtenay
2nd Lt Austin 'Jammy' Playters
2nd Lt Elias 'Bunny' Parsons

Claims:
Lt Angus 'Secu' Lond claims 1 DFW
2nd Lt Austin 'Jammy' Playters claims 1 DFW
2nd Lt Casey 'Broadsword' Courtenay claims 1 DFW

Mission Date: 20th August
Time: Unknown

Rumours were that the enemy were putting a number of aircraft and balloons into the air. Maybe they're expecting a big push. We were sent by the Major to patrol the front just north of Ypres to just south of Ypres. It was during this report that I ordered the men to attack the balloon Bully had spotted. Unfortunately I was hit by archie during my run and my engine shut off. No matter what I tried I couldn't get it restarted. I was 3,000 feet on the wrong side of the lines. I did manage to get back, crash landed just passed our lines and banged my head, I was the better side of our railway lines and before too long soldiers came running towards me.

The balloon was shot down by Secu. Shortly after Casey 'Broadsword' Courtenay was destroyed by archie. Halberstadts came to defend a second balloon when the guys got close. During this entanglement 2nd Lt Abbott 'Nev' Bartelot and 2nd Lt Aiken 'Azref' Grofhurst came together.

Jammy also died and it seems that he was hit by a suicidal Eindecker. Eindeckers also joined the fight later. So much happened that it might be nice if the other pilots add there AARs if they can.

Mission flown by:
Cpt Peter 'Pariah' Gunstone
Lt Angus 'Secu' Lond
2nd Lt Abbott 'Nev' Bartelot - Dead
2nd Lt Casey 'Broadsword' Courtenay - Dead
2nd Lt Austin 'Jammy' Playters - Dead
2nd Lt Elias 'Bunny' Parsons
2nd Lt Peter 'Bully' Peltie
2nd Lt Aiken 'Azref' Grofhurst - Dead

Claims:
Lt Angus 'Secu' Lond - 1 Balloon
2nd Lt Aiken 'Azref' Grofhurst - 1 Halberstadt
2nd Lt Abbott 'Nev' Bartelot - 1 Balloon
2nd Lt Elias 'Bunny' Parsons - 1 Eindecker
2nd Lt Peter 'Bully' Peltie - 1 Eindecker

Any other claims? I know someone got an Eindecker?
