Re: Best Flight Sim Soundtracks
Good good! I will now judge your choices (always subjective, but this is my thread so my word is final k )
@Konaber - Very intense. Enjoyed the build up. Got disappointed midway when the song turned into a generic rock band album but otherwise very solid sim theme. I give it 6/10
@Ginger - Classic show, but the NES game adaptation isn't just a watered down version of the theme, but also an arcade game with no sim features so its out of my list. 1/10
@Onebad - Thats not a game. You get Gay/Homo
@Crane - Barely a flight sim, but gets my green light due to the infamous landing levels. Theme is again a watered down version of an existing theme, but i cannot deny the impact that tune had on modern culture. 4/10
@Broadsword - Very impressive entry. A classic DOS feel with a jaunty period tune and an equally thematic WW2 military beat. You receive a solid 9/10
@Bully - A more respectful entry with allot of soul and a dose of early 2000's raspyness. 7/10
@Vanguard - Screams 80's at the top of its digital lungs! Would certainly pump up a simmer once started. Despite being slightly generic it just manages to nudge it's way to a 8/10
@Digby - Your edit made me laugh heartily as much as I love the sim their choice of musicians leave allot to be desired. What would otherwise be a 3/10 now receives 4/10
@Grunt - Got a good X-wing and TIE Fighter feel from this one! Not the longest theme, but doesn't overstay it's welcome. You receive 6/10
Please keep them coming

While I will rib Spigot pretty much constantly as he flies the aircraft, I must admit that the DCS JF-17 Thunder Module has the best artwork and theme I have seen and heard.
Fight on and fly on to the last drop of blood and the last drop of fuel - to the last beat of the heart.

On top of what Vanguard posted, i'd actually recommend the whole album:

Re: Best Flight Sim Soundtracks
Round two, let's see what you've conjured
@Sharpe - Fairly standard and what you'd expect from a 2019 air themed song. Nice but not that creative. 5/10
@Thaine - 1# Solid late 90's theme. Short and sweet. 7/10
2# Straight up songs found in that period. Nothing unique to the game. 2/10
3# A nice post-vietnam vibe, with an emphasis on the asiatic theatre. Simplistic but effective, it gets 6/10
@Elos - All very good. Some have a 7/10 but overall, it remains at 8/10, stellar tracks!
@Ginger - Baby steps of simming! I can respect it, but music from that pioneering period has aged about as well as vintage milk. It may be a heavily watered down version of the classic march, but a sims a sim. 2/10
Jolly good! Carry on

Sure wish anyone made sims with that level of depth anymore ☹Broadsword wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 10:11 am
