Wow, your Grandad was in 6./JG26? That's brilliant Larry - have you interviewed him formally? Please do because we'd love to hear about his experiences.

Seriously, wtf are you doing in the RAF, I would take his number from 6. :)

No, I like to fly for the RAF. Please let it be like it is. The German fighter pilots made (or make) a good job, but my Heart goes for the Hurricane and the RAF.

I dont know much about my Grandfather, because he crashed with Kurt Tanks Jet Fighter prototyp Pulqui II. at 9.10. 1952 in age of 38 in Argentinia. Thats why my mother speaks spain because she grew up in Carlos Paz (Arg).

Otto Behrens flew missions beside Karl Schumacher in Stab /JG 1 against RAF Wellingtons over the "deutsche Bucht" I think early 1940.

Together with Karl Borris he made the FW 190 ready for the frontline in 1941 at the channel. In this time he flew "Brown 12" and others. 24.3.1942 he got shot down in "brown 5", bailed out succesfully but was injured near Le Treport. he was a victim of F/O Hugo Armstrong an Australian pilot in No 129 Sqn.

Later in the war he flew the Me 262 (night fighter version, prototyp) and Arado 234 jet planes.

It`s a pitty that i never had a talk with him. It was everytime very interessting when my grandmother told stories about that time, about Adolf Galland as well! :)
