Third Time's the Charm

Post by Zig-Zag » Mon Aug 21, 2017 3:01 am

Well then,

After three weeks I have finally managed to get my crate off the ground thrice. I got up, flipped, crashed, and burst into flames the first time. On my second I ate dirt from much higher and farther away. My third time up, I got feet wet, threw some lead at a Spit, headed for the ships in the Channel, became distracted by a swarm of Blenheims, and then rode a lovely spiral into the Drink.
Jolly-good fun overall!

Cheers!

1. Spawned in. Check
2. In Teamspeak. Check
3. Started engine. Check
4. Took off. Check

Sounds like you are ready for our Campaign, nothing else is required. See you on Sunday.

What times do you usually get on to fly? Im happy to give you some help if required

My "On" times vary. Sundays I try to be on 17:00-21:00 GMT. I might come back on after the end of the day to practice take-offs. I work in the USA's Eastern Time Zone (GMT -4:00), and usually my days are 12-14+ hours long. I only worked a 10-er today, so after I post this and read The Boy bedtime stories, I'll be back to try a take-off and landing.
Cheers!

A bit of checking it out and training will have you doing it from habit. The 109 is a tricky bird on the ground.

I found lowering the sensitivity in the rudder pedals helps, and also slightly in the other controls. I can take you through it just time zones may be awkward. If you look at the controls axis settings, there is a slider that allows you to tweak them :nice:

Got off the ground on the first attempt tonight! Feet wet at about 1600m; throttle 1/4; then went into a spin, could not eject, and landed in the drink. Jolly-good fun, I must say; I was just hoping to take-off and get wheels up. The rest was bonus time, and I didn't have to worry about learning how to land.

Bent two props. Third time up. May have eaten some friendly flak pursuing Tommy; windscreen was a bit untidy. Couldn't climb above 4K at that point. Out to G-7. oil pressure 0.0 - 0.2 and then at under 2K alt, into the drink. Bit of a drag I couldn't eject. Jolly-good getting up.
Cheers!
