Core Blimey our Spike was famous !!
Hi all
Thought some of you might be interested to know a little more about our very modest Spike (Dave).
I intended not to publish anything else as I guess it is time to move on, but found these gems and though some of you might be interested.
In my talks with him he mentioned he played the guitar, turns out he had a number one! He played in a group supporting Manfred Mann and the Kinks in the 1960s as well as having there own gigs.
Older members will remember these group's the rest will say WHO?
No not the Who!
Dave was in a band in Hong Kong starting in 1964. They were called the Kontinentals. Lower down I have attached a couple of YouTube videos from the reunion they had in 1986.
On this first link you will see a very young Spike, front right on a publicity shot. Also check out the two links at the bottom of this page.

This link has an amusing newspaper artical.

On the videos Spike is on keyboard.
He also wrote a song in 1986 which he recorded in 2005. This is in some strange format so I got it working converted to an MP4 file. It plays on my Android with some apps and not in others. Download the song use media player on your PC, this seems to work.

These vidio clips were for a TV show they only played a recording of the song, the band had to lip sync and pretend to play the instruments. You can catch Spike laughing a couple of times!
If you find the clips are silent just touch your android screen again and the sounds comes on, or hopefully it is just me.

Oh wow, I'm looking forward to this! Can't watch at work.
ACG does have an unusually high share of musicians but this is extreme!
