Wow I so want to do this too!

I'm planning a trip in the coming years, to follow iconic locations for the BoF & BoB. Definitely stopping in at Woza's joint and spending the night at dickie's too
Catch me if you can...

Count me in! It'd be an honour :B:

I live slap bang the middle of BoB country. Would be an honour if you fancy taking a tour of the sites?

Will hit RAF Manston museum, RAF Hawkinge museum, BoB memorial at capel, and a spot of lunch at the Jackdaw.

Actually if any of the chaps want to meet up we could get a mini bus :nice:

Now you're talking :nice:

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.

Could this minibus perchance take us on a tour of the pubs too? Offical BoB pubs of course - purely for BoB research...

Thanks so much for the tips on this. I was content to think about a Cessna 152 but have now elevated my aspirations. I need to work out exactly where we are staying to figure out the distances, time involved, etc. And then, I have to work on the spouse to get the green light to make it happen. The idea of flying in the Spit is growing on me. The price is a bit steep but I think I can justify it as a "bucket list" item and work to open the savings account a bit. We shall see.
It would also be great to run into the "real" 501 while over there. I will keep you posted on my plans as the develop.

Just stumbled across this chaps Youtube channel and have subsequently watched about three of his videos. He's based in the south-east of England and does lot's of VFR flights. Might give you a flavour of what to expect Tex.

In this video he travels to Le Touquet from Biggin Hill:

Points of Interest: Dungeness at 2:44, mid-channel at 6:17, Cap Gris-Nez at 6:57, some nice banter at 7:08, Étaples at 9:03 and Le Toquet at 9:27.
