Very sad to hear this morning that ATA Pilot Joy Lofthouse ‘The Spitfire girl’ has passed away aged 94, Joy flew Hurricanes, Spitfires and Mosquitos amongst many during World War Two delivering aircraft all around Britain.

What a girl !......saw her on a documentary a while back now,talk about having character,she had in bucket loads,a truly talented,lovely lady.

Sad news indeed , Most people only think the "few" won the BoB, but without the men and women behind the scenes things would of been a whole lot different. R.I.P
