Remember watching these when they aired on TV. (how long ago was that...) Anyways, Ill give it another go.

Sorry if its been posted elsewhere, but I just finished the YouTube series Spitfire Aces, 4 parts.

Love that bird through and through. Probably one of the most perfect (estethic form meets function) airships of all time. Some of the best machines and designs have come from close study of nature. This is yet another fine example.

I've been watching through these this morning. Very enjoyable.

They definitely have a 90s or late 80s feel to them. Love the cheesy piano outro.

Hey Osprey
I have not yet seen the series posted by the OP here (been moving house), but here is a short exert from the biography series History channel ran some years back, one episode dedicated to Steinhoff.

Its just a clip with some of his comments on the move from Africa to Sicily, and a little bit beyond that.

I guess a lot can change in ten months...

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.

I happen to possess all the episodes on my HDD. I might re-upload them if I can find the time.

Yeah i have them all as .iso files so perhaps I can upload them to OneDrive or similar and we can treat it like 'open' news group piracy.....

Luft, what format are yours in? No sense in a double upload, let's see if we can co-ordinate. Mine are actually on DVD now I think about it, I might need to transfer them to HDD, or download yours once you've up'd them :nice:

Thanks for the heads up FD

Mine are all MP4's. When I found the series here after I joined, I downloaded them all via Youtube Downloader so I could watch them via my blu-ray player (it can play media off of USB devices).
