I was running boost cut out with 78% rads and pushing prop to 100% in short bursts, but whilst he manoeuvred his "jinking" up and down - I was flying pretty much straight and level, this also allowed me to reel him in

That and I've recently cut chocolate and fizzy drinks out of my diet :salute:

Oh i thought the spit ran at 3000 and noticed you were at 2800. Being constant speed prop i thought you would shove it to 3000 and then just manage the manifold pressure

That’s far too of a “German” approach

Us RAF Spit Pilots just thrust levers back and forth... the gauges serve as small reflections to check if we need apply more Bryll Creme or not

On a more serious note you cant run the Spit at 3000RPM and boosted manifold pressure in Cliffs without causing engine trouble couple minutes in. Maximum power output you can get is 2850RPM and boost cutout on - with reduced radiotor it will get you 5-10 mph faster than the 109 at sea level. Hopefully TF will adress this issue and we'll be able to run Spits (and Hurris) at 3000RPM with boost cutout in Cliffs like we're supposed to.

Yes it is. If you're running 3000rpm + boost cut out then at full rads then your water will keep within limits but the oil will inevitably overheat and kill your engine in around 5 min time limit, so you need to fly with RPM slightly reduced. Though with reduced RPM you can keep your rads at 30-50% if flying in a straight line so you can reach some good speeds.

Only posting this because I went to the bother of editing it and the end music with the 109s fits well.

109 pilots, go to 6:30 in and

Cheers,
