You've echoed my thoughts exactly Woz. We may have a number of court martials heading our way if we are ordered to attack any bombers because I refuse to go anywhere near them at the moment.

1st flight - Dove down on their 7 o'clock attacking at 380mph... instant oil & rudder damage followed by Governor fail in the first second of gunner fire, (1 Do-17 flamed)

2nd flight - Attacking from Head on closing speed of circa 550mph - instant pilot kill (like seriously instant)

3rd flight - attacking from 4 o'clock underneath, 3 seconds in to the attack oil and water vented, control surfaces damaged, right wing guns destroyed..

If you think I'm attacking Bombers during campaign nights.. you're seriously mistaken.
 Fuck me, sounds like the bombers are going to be escorting US for the time being.

Beam attacks are the trick. High and fast from 2 or 10 o’clock. One swipe 1/2 second burst then past. Then repeat. I didn’t take a hit once in about 10 passes. Against 6 Dorniers solo with Veteran gunnery skill. Knocked out one and damaged another 4. Tis a slow process to get them down but a whole squadron at work his way would work. Just don’t linger. Keep fast. I’ll try and do some test videos too on different numbers and skills etc.

Much better with this gunnery skill in my opinion. Trundling up behind with the trigger held down as in 4.3 was BS.

But Woz, were you on your own whilst attacking those bombers? That would have been a suicide mission in reality - you need to see what they're like in a group attack - and then we'll see how well the AI behaves :nice:

If it stops some knobber sitting on my tail for 50 miles shooting the shit out of my 110 from a few metres while my gunner shoots in the opposite direction I'm all for it.

Well if the Gunner skill remains the same across the board for tomorrows mission then claims for and against the bombers will make for interesting reading

Even with AI at rookie level, AI gunnery is unreal.

Just do the testing. Try do shoot down a He111 with a spit and hurricane as watch the Death Star shooting.

This need to be solved ASAP. :hi:

Too bad my grandpa is gone. He was a tailgunner in Halifax bombers. I wish I had known history back then to ask him questions when I had the chance.
