What are the essential controls for BoS? There's billions of them!

So having some spare time on my hand I decided to check out BoS. I've had it and all the expansions.since day 1 but have never fired it up.

Anyway, I launched it (mainly to check out VR (problematic but not the reason.for this post) and took a flight.

Having found an.enemy I got on its tail and proceeded to fire....and the camera zoomed in on each button press

So, obviously I need to.head into the depths of the control setup but realistically I don't want to.go through reams of controls to just set up the basics for now, while unwinding keys that seem impractically already allocated!

Anyway, first up, any idea what control is zooming the view when I press the trigger? Is it head zoom or something similar?

Essentials to.me are

Radiator flaps open and closed
Oil flaps open and closed
Flaps up and down (not on Hotas)

Guns
Cannon
Guns and Cannons
Rockets
Bombs

Zoom in view
Zoom out view

Change angle of view like Clod 30-degree's/60 degree's and 90 degree's.

(Shame there is still no wonder woman view for replays )

And the rest I can allocate to.the Hotas.

Is there anything else (apart from.engine start) I am missing in BoS as an essential

Do not forget that the russian planes all need manual mixture control

If you are playing in VR it could well be the new VR zoom view that zooms whilst pressed. I'm away at the moment but when I get back I'll dig through my install and find what I mapped to my hotas.

It might be listed as Field of View as well. Also, what HOTAS are you using? Some guys have found pretty good methods for their specific HOTAS, if you have one similar we might be able to give you some better tips on what feels most comfortable for that specific joystick

Sorry MP, it will need to be later this evening - I completely forgot it was campaign night and I just got back and need to run our radar / get set up for the campaign! You could, of course, come and check out our radar system (or even fly with us if you felt like it) if you are at a loose end...? If so, either be on server at 19:00 or wander into the "Sector Control" TS channel. I should be in there for a bit, and if not I'm sure the others will be happy to show you around.

I have Simpeds for the Rudder and Thrustmaster Cougar with Gimbal and Hall Sensor modification

Re. Campaign. I will probably start to take to the virtual skies again but need to get up to speed with full real again. Not really been necessary for creating videos so back to the grindstone to learn the Radiator and oil cooling.....before seizing up too many engines

But will be nice to get into the skies again

Ok, so looking through my settings I have the following on HOTAS:

Pilot Head controls:
VR Camera Zoom
Default VR view

Main Controls:
Pitch, Roll, Yaw and their trims
Gear, flaps, canopy

Engine:
Throttle, RPM, Mixture
Oil/Water radiators as required per aircraft

Weapons:
Bombs, Guns

I think this is probably enough to get you up and about in good order.

I have ventured online a bit lately...further to this thread what settings should you have to spot contacts, do you have to adjust gamma?
Also what are the best throttle settings for the yak 1 and 109f?
Is anyone regularly online? what channel do they go on?
