Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod

Post by Redeye » Thu Jan 05, 2017 6:33 pm

http://www.lockonfiles.com/files/file/3 ... on-10-mod/

Check it out. Lots of example vids in the link.

I love the sounds- but I have edited mine a bit. I hate the "swishy-swoshy" sound from the front as it is so repetitive- so I changed that to an A2A Spitfire recording sound I had lying around. Also for the weapons, I used another mod. (Google dcs spitfire weapon mod v.3).

That aside, I think the sounds are fantastic and a great step up in realism and immersion.

If you like it- consider donating a fiver or some such.

Just gave it a go myself. Not perfect, but sounds a hell of a lot more like the real McCoy than what it comes with out of the box.

Try changing out this file (Replaces the external front- "shishy-shwoshy"). I have watched a shit ton of youtube cockpit clips to figure out what sounds the MOST right- obviously the sounds in youtube clips heavily distorted and cannot be compared to what the ear actually hears in the cockpit- but like you say- I feel its bounds and leaps closer and IS in fact real Merlin 66 recordings.

This file is nabbed from A2A and should give a better (IMO) front sound.

After doing some flying with Lofty, Paddy and Wiggy with the mod and can vouch for that it is glorious.

Do you chaps use the JSGME mod for these addons?
If so, where do we get it from?
Cheers.

Do do not have to- you can simply drop them in your install- however when using JGSME you are not overwriting stuff. Also, when updating, DCS usually overwrites mods, requiring a reinstall. JGSME makes that happen in a heartbeat.

You have to do a search. I know someone at the ED forum made a 'new' alterantive to ut recently. Here is the bible for it though:
