Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod
Absolute must have I say. Very close to the real thing, particularly the exhaust note in a a fly-by, very well done indeed.
Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod
Yeah I think Divelplane has done a hell of a job within the limitations of the DCS sound engine.
The best part is that many mods break multiplayer integrity checks, but this one does not, so it can be used in multiplayer servers etc.
Listening to a few of these babies starting up is a real thrill:P

Here is the weapon mod I use

The sounds are a bit low perhaps, but I think it is the best currently available.

Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod
I don't suppose it would be possible to use the .303 sound file in Cliffs? If it hasn't been done before I feel it might be worth a try.
I do like to shoot down planes yes I do
Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod
I adjusted (increased) the levels of the .303s and cannon in the weapon mod to use alongside Diveplane's sound mod. So that's an option if people want to use both together; it was very simple to do and I can post the details if anyone is interested. However, the problem I've found is that Diveplane's engine sounds are far too loud - online it drowns out all other sounds and worst of all I could hear other Spitfires really loudly above everything else online which was a massive distraction when fighting.
I did think about looking at Diveplane's mod and decreasing the volume of the engine sounds but tbh after a bit of use I've gone off the mod and back to the vanilla engine. While I quite like the sound of Diveplane's mod, the difference in sound at different rpms isn't all that great to me and it's something I rely on in combat to know what rpm / boost I'm at without having to constantly look at my gauges in a turn etc and as such, I'm not using his mod for now.

Using
I've greatly turned down the gain of the whooshy sound from the front, that deafens when turning your head.
External sounds lovely jubbly...

Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod
I have done some tweaking to Diveplanes mod- changing out quite a few sounds. Will let you guys have a look when I am finished.
Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod
Did you manage to find a way to decrease external engine sounds (i.e. the sound of other aircraft engines) vs the sound of our own engine (as heard from the cockpit rather than F2)? I do like the mod but can't stand the fact that I can hear all other aircraft engines over my own.
