Testing IL2 1946

As for Fallout 4, it disappointed me so I decided to shelve it. Life's too short...
I'm the same. Played 3 liked it, looked forward to 4....Didn't grip me the same. Witcher 3 though, loved it!

The test was a partial faillure, with me as host only Miki connected, Bully, Broady an Jammy never succeed. But after we all connected to "aces over Europe" server, except Jammy.
But for Bully and Broady I'm not sure they didn't have to réinstall, or modify their games before, we didn't had the time to talk about that.

Bunny and I both had the apparently widely known hanging at '90% - loading humans' bug when connecting to Secu's pc. When we switched to Aces over Europe Bunny seemed to be fine but I was still having the same bug. None of the things I googled seemed to work, but one option mentioned was to change the texture compression under openGL. Since I wasn't running in openGL this would obviously not be helpful, but it did inspire me to try switching from DirectX to OpenGL anyway, and suddenly I was able to connect. Not sure what the deal is there - single player worked fine with DirectX, but the performance still seemed fine under openGL so I guess I shouldn't worry.

Isn't OpenGL the way to go for 46? I had the impression that numerous effects etc only worked under that preset. That might explain the issue.

The DirectX bug has been in 46 for a while sadly and has never been fixed :(.
Its a shame you guys had problems. Are you looking to run a test again?

Another little test with Miki, Ship strike Norway map. This is what I think 1946 is made for, little mission+/- 1hour max and try everything comes to our head.
We have to try another time.

Exactly what it was made for and what we should do with it.

Sorry about OGL, took it for granted that folks knew that DX was utter shite on 46.

Still think a multi-crew bomber session would be great fun
