After a good takeoff with my Staffel and an enjoable flight to England, we made contact with RAF aircraft beginning to attack our bombers. I was about 2000 meters above the bombers when I made my move to dive on some Hurricanes. My frame rate dropped to 5 fps, my canopy was splattered with oil, and my engine stopped. For some reason unknown, my cockpit instruments were also broken. This was particularly strange because I checked my oil temperature , RPM, and propeller pitch right before my engine failed. I'm not sure what happened, but I had to put my bird down and was captured by British troops.

Summary:
I had only just arrived here in France. Fresh off the truck from Hamburg I saw the airfield as I came over the hill at Fiennes. Those glorious BF109's glistening in the sun. I thought about flight school, I thought about Jacqueline whom I met in France at one of the transfer stations east of here.

No sooner did I arrive, thrown my stuff on my rack, did the alarms sound for us to man our planes. I rushed to the boards to find my assignment. 1. That was my number. I quickly ran to find aircraft 1 on the line. There she was, a little tarnished from fighting, but sound. I hopped in and strapped in. Over the radio we got the orders, escort the bombers, protect them at all costs. Today, we hit London. Wow, I thought. This is one that you read about back home, ones where flights leave but half return. I stopped that thought as we started rolling to the runway.

It was a bit squirrely this BF109. It's seen some action no doubt, but it was as if the crew chief forgot to fix the right wheel brake. I drifted and darted across the field, on the runway and off, but I finally managed to get her up. Once airborne, I met up with Javelina and the rest of 4 Staffel. We flew higher and higher, sun in our eyes the whole time. I couldn't read my instruments it was so blindingly bright. We managed to meet up with the bombers and fly over the channel. Hard to believe there's a war going on when looking at a sight such as this.

We reached the english coast high above our bombers. We zig zagged across the sky keeping an eye on our brothers as they headed for London. No sooner did we make three passes did we hear over the radio that Hurricanes were attacking the bombers. Javelina instructed us to break and head in. I broke left, yaw'ed her over, found a hurricane and dove.

Faster and faster earthbound I went. 400kph, 500kph, 600kph. I could feel the plane shuddering under the stress. I lined the hurricane up in my sights and spat out some MG fire. He quickly turned over and broke away from me as I headed back up into the sky. Tracer fire... A few spats on the tail... I check my six... A Spitfire! I leveled my climb, rotated 35 degrees northbound, dipped under his fire. "Climb..." "Climb!" I shouted... I saw the spitfire stall... Now was my chance. I yawed really hard to the right, adjusted my RPM's and prop. And dove.

I spat out more MG fire at the spitfire that was in front of me. He too quickly turned away in a breaking left hand turn. I climbed once more. Spat, spat, spat. More tracers... More spitfires... This time three of them were trying to line me up. I dove for the deck, twisting and jiving as to make a hard target. More tracers... and again, more.. After what seemed like an hour, the tracers stopped. I looked behind me as I level'd off.. still had three spitfires but they were pulling up and away.

I'm going to need a new pair of under garments when I get back.

I tried to pursue but lost them in the sun. I returned to climbing back up to 5k feet. I headed for London as I was sure the boys were still having at it with the british. I was alone. I was shaking. I was scanning constantly hoping that indeed I was alone. After 5 minutes, my scanning slowed down as my eyes convinced my mind that I truely was alone. A crackling of the radio reminded me that I wasn't. "4th Staffel, rendezvous the bombers heading back to france." It was Pitti. Then I heard another voice over the radio. It was Javelina. Apparently a few of us took hits, there was a massive fight, and we were left alone, spreadout, over england.

We discussed forming up over the english horn and made our way. We caught up to what was left of the bombers. 10. 10 bombers on a return. There were 30 went we left. I couldn't help think about those boy's families. I couldn't help but think about the hurricane and spitfire I had in my sights. Could I have prevented any of those loses? Could it have been my fault.

Over the channel doesn't seem like a long flight, but it is when your mind is elsewhere. The bombers returned home as did we. On final approach I could feel a sense of relief as I was coming home. Home, it was strange but it felt that way. I had only just arrived that morning. Here I was glad to be back.

After landing and shutting down, explaining to my crew chief about the holes. He said don't worry about it, my real assigned aircraft was in the hanger and is ready to go for next time. I could have punched him. 4th staffel met in the officers lounge afterwards and drank our memories away.

-S- to all those who fought and paid the ultimate price. I now feel closer somehow.

my second mission started normally, taking off with group. lost sight of flight almost immediately, headed for coast and rendezvous with bombers, where I met up with my group. flew into sun until we got to English coast. was still in position when enemy started attacking bombers, when lag got so bad I could hardly see anything, major slide show any time I got anywhere near the action, near the bombers. by the time I could move, I had picked up a couple slugs in a radiator, started venting. was well over land by now, had to evade a couple more attempts on my life, and had to crash land in enemy territory. note to self, and lesson learned: never fly or fight anywhere near the bomber group. result is always major lag, and an early end to the flight being a helpless lagged out target.

Chaos south east of London. Separated. Alone Contacts; slightly above me. Three Spitfires. I'm spotted. Hits!! Wounded. Vision obscured. I stall! I let my Black 8 fall from the sky to gain me some hope of separation. I recover low, and pointed East. Trying to escape. Black 8's vent trail beckons the Spits. More hits. The engine packs up. I pull sharply upward. Still taking hits!! I get out. I hope the hospital has nice fluffy pillows. Maybe I'll get a toothless nurse.

Multiple problems at the start of the game, my view kept snapping back to the front so I basically couldn't look around for long, many of us were having problems with skins such as the double Markings even though we un checked them, I don't think the server started well. Took off got lost regained visual over caffiers, waited for our dear casca. Headed towards the bombers sighted them they were being attacked by hurricanes we started a slow dive to get to the bombers however, when we got about 1/2 of the way there I started rubber banding like a bitch could not keep on anyone could not see anyone just planes jumping about in the sky like "fuck you Villiers" tried to engaged got about 15 fps and then one burst from a titfire crapped my engine out so I jumped. Don't know what was going on with my Internet either the sheer amount of people around in the same point fucked it up or my Internet.

Took off from Marquise West leading schwarm 2 with Zysk. Javelina was leading schwarm 1. We took of dead last had to avoid wreckage on the runway. Got separated from Zysk and took position with Schwarm 1. Later got reconnected with Zysk. Trailed schwarm 1 lead by Javelina as a Rotte. Escorted bombers and jumped into the fray when Hurricanes attacked. Got some good hits but server frame freezes messed up many of my attacks. Dove after a Hurricane and got some more hits. Got attacked back 2 Spitfires and lost an aileron. Exited the English Coast near English point and rejoined over France with Javelina and Reisser. Made my way back to Hydrequent where I landed in good shape.

Basically , we were doing OK Shwarm-wise until fearing we are being jumped , we turned towards what we thought were out attackers (a maneuver that included a steep climb) , just to find out that these are bf-110s .
Till this second I don't know why we were so eager to return , why we turned back as if into an active engagement .
I was following Dub trying to keep up with his sharp bank , then I suddenly found myself in a wild flat spin .
I was able to recover about a K lower .
By then I was alone , and everybody lost everybody .
I was trying to coordinate a rendezvous point with dub and we were both heading towards Wilmington , when suddenly around 6 K I stumbled across a Swharm of Spits .
As they maneuvered to my 6 , I pointed my nose down pushed full throttle and headed for the deck , almost at Vne .
During my escape I did not pay much attention to my RPM's .
As I was able to verify that my six is clear , about 1K high with Wilmington insight , my engine gave up .
I did my best trying to glide as far as I can , hoping to clear enemy territory .
It did not work .
Pilot and aircraft are in the bottom of the channel ...

we took off from calais. We then formed up and met the bombers over boulogne.we stayed high on the bombers 6 and follow them all the way over the channel.Grey made sure that we kept the bombers in sight at all times about 10 minutes after we went feet dry over england we saw to contacts high up well over 7 kilometres. We assumed they were bf109s until they dived vertically down towards the bombers.i shouted to lead that they were coming on to our 5 o'clock and closing fast so we dropped the nose down and went into a bout a 10 degree dive and accelerated to 550 KMH. we escaped the spitfires and leveled off regained our height, formed up we then decided it was getting very hectic and chaotic around that area so we pulled in front of the bombers and scouted ahead. That is when we saw a loan hurricane on our 1 o'clock co-out, we immediately went on the aggressive and charged towards him at full power eventually he spotted me closing fast on his 5 o'clock and he turned hard towards me not quite coming head on but i managed to get a shot off but missed immediately then grey went on the attack and after about 30 seconds or so grey got that final devastating burst in on the hurricane and he spiralled down to his death me and Katt together confirm the kill shortly after in the excitement i somehow managed to unplug my joystick and lost full control of the aircraft and slammed straight into some poor tommy's roof hopefully wiping out the entire family.

Claims: N/A

The JU-53 crew raced to get me back to France but it seemed to take forever. The transport I'm on is required to make 3-sorties, landing only for fuel. As a fighter pilot, this was truly one of the longest flight I've ever experienced - and with the noise and vibrations from this aircraft, I'm lucky to still have my hearing and the fillings in my teeth. This flight gives me time to finalize my report on the air defenses of Yugoslavia and Greece. Over the past month, I've been East retrieving information from our reconnaissance flights in those areas. The growing trickle of our troops movements to those area are becoming hard to concealed...this makes me a bit nervous realizing that we'll be invading more countries soon. What is Hitler thinking? We're not finished with the English yet.

But still, I'm excited to be assuming command of 7./JG26. This is a new Staffel belonging to the third Gruppe within Jagdgeschwader 26 (III./JG26). During my absence, the Staffel is Commanded by a hardened veteran, Lieutenant Atreides. Over the past weeks I've read reports of his accomplishment over the Channel. I'm proud of him, I know it hasn't been easy - especially with the changing threat of having to stay with the bombers that are flying deep into England.

Just landing minutes after the departure of Lieutenant Atreides and the pilots of 7. Staffel, I catch sight of my Staffel in orbit around the base, forming up before flying direct to the rendezvous point rather than lose precious fuel ...

On the radio he welcomes me be back promising beer and women once he returns.

However, he never does return...and neither do any of the pilots flying with him this day.
