Re: DCS MODERN CONFLICT SIGNUP THREAD
I haven't tried the start up yet, just flying from the runway pre-started, will have to give it a go
Re: DCS MODERN CONFLICT SIGNUP THREAD
I remember vividly trying to learn all that and all combat systems. Very good fun, it takes ages to go through the start-up procedure I spend weeks just mapping the bloody thing. Later on, I gave up due to lack of time (and I focused on the P-51 that just got out at the time) and I regret it as I would have to start from scratch again She flies lovely, but as I never flew any modern jets before, I struggled to comprehend some of the technology and I definitely lack enough buttons on my old school hotas. I would love to come back to that with someone who actually understands what is what.Boyezee wrote:I haven't tried the start up yet, just flying from the runway pre-started, will have to give it a go

Give me a few months and I might have something:P
Re: DCS MODERN CONFLICT SIGNUP THREAD
Yep, that part of learning is the actual fun for me. Blowing up stuff comes second... As I said, part of the problem with modern birds is my old hotas - suitable up to 1950s stuff, but not much beyond. I just ordered that Cougar MFD thingy to overcome that issue.Redeye wrote:Give me a few months and I might have something:P

Robo,
I do a lot of BMS and have also in DCS SU27/33 Robo, if you have questions on system feel free to ask. I'll share what I know. That's why you can fly bMS for years and years and keep learning and perfecting. The depth of the: avionics systems, surface threat weapons, a2a and a2g ordinance, data sharing modem, comms, SAMS and e/a types requires a lot out of the modern day fighter pilot. Cranium meltdown they call it.

Re: DCS MODERN CONFLICT SIGNUP THREAD
I'd love to fly with you! I tried old Falcon very long time ago, but it didn't look anything like your AARs. I am planning to fly more of the modern jets a bit for the very reasons you named. I am now slowly getting ready for the new F-14. I don't mind flying the Sus and MiGs, but I prefer US planes. Tomcat in MiG-21 quality will be superb addition. I have lots of reading to do though. I started with "Viper pilot"...

The Tomcat is REAL!
