F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
Good day Eagle drivers.
We have had a few weeks now to get situated and I think the we are progressing nicely,
The current list of ACTIVE and SEMI-ACTIVE pilots are as follows.
(Any pilots adjust his own activity level on leasure. You can off course slide from semi- to full active at any time)
Active:
Redeye
Fang
Broadsword
Sabre
Boyezee
Shark
Reserve/Semi active/Has shown interest:
Luke
Robo
Atreides
Wolf
Keroth
Krass
+Anyone else?
We need a proper squadron!
I'd like it to be based on a real one, and have skins/symbols to match, but I need your HELP.
These are my criteria: (Feel free to have opinions on these)
1. The squadron must exist and be in the USAF.
2. It must be a operational (I.e not a training/agressor squadron)
3. It must be an F-15c (Not E- strike eagle) squadron
4. It should be based, preferably on Western US (That way we can call the new Nevada map 'Home' and use that for training and the post to overseas assignments.)
5. Cool names/symbols are preferable;)
Have a look here at lunch:

Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
I'm leaning towards the 194th "Griffins" squadron of 144th Fighter Wing, based in California, active since 1943 (Some squadron can be used for other AC in WW2 and the Cold War period with a little imagination)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/194th_Fighter_Squadron
(There seems to be conflicting information of AC type in the two wiki aritcles. The above links mentions primarly F-16's and F-15E's. Need to check up)
Basic skin for DCS:
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119392
We need to make our own, as this one is not to be used for redistributing.
131st Squadron "Death Vipers" might also work. Based in US and active with the F-15c in the Middle East for "Enduring Freedom". Might work well with the Middle East map coming up.

Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
I really like this idea.
I had a quick look at the squadron you suggested and it appears they have flown variants of Mustang, Sabre, F4's and F16's before going to the F15 - this would cover a number of the aircraft we currently can fly in DCS and hopefully the other aircraft will appear in future modules - (the F-4 would be awesome ).
Like you say a bit of imagination would be needed due to the exact variants they operated but I don't mind that at all.

Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
The 194th do have a nice paint job...
... but I'm not clear on their role. As I understand it they are part of the California National Guard, so does that mean they wouldn't be the first choice for overseas operations? Anyone know enough about these things to clarify?

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.
Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
Good point indeed. We should check out what F-15c squadrons actually have been active on Desert Storm/Bosnia/Libya/Enduring Freedom
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
Love the idea and cool looking skins.
Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
How about this:
366 Fighter Wing "Gunfighters"
Active all over the place, and with squadrons flying F15 C's, E's, F-16 etc. My brief skim-read suggest that it is a "composite unit" compromised of differnt AC types to be ready to ship off to hotspots in the world.
EDIT: Crap! Seems they have swapped away their F-15C's...
THis is actually more difficult than I thought..lol
The unit has been active in ww2, (Not Korea) Vietnam, Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom....
Read it and have a say.

Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
I like the Brit connection with them stationed out of Lakenheath in the 70's.
Re: F-15 Eagle squadron needed!
Actually, we might even go more brit than that even. One of the sqds modelled in DCS. Active in all there is, flying F-15c's and based in Britain...
