DCS WW2 Update: April 2018

Thought I'd post this information from a recent newsletter here for anyone who is interested: DCS World War II Assets Update https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/newsletter/20180420/Normandy-Farm-720.jpg There are three primary components that currently make up the DCS World War II, the Nor...

Re: TFS Update 07/29/2017: FPS with mirror and tree collisions

in cliffs and dcs aren't numbers of trees scale able. how does that work. Couldn't you set them to low and fly through what's a forest in someone else's view? Not that this would be any different now then after the patch. In DCS 2 (Normandy) you scale the viewing distance of trees and their lod mod...

Re: TFS Update -7/22/2017: The Last Steps

Thanks for the update Spiritus, as someone who hasn't touched Cliffs of Dover in years this is the first update that I feel hope again for Cliffs. I understand why you don't want to state a release date and it makes perfect sense to me. - Flight model improvements: this is what I'm really excited ab...

They also have a 30% off sale on all WW2 aircraft until 29th May (09:00 GMT) which works out as $34.99 for the Spitfire, 109 or Dora. The P51 Mustang is $20.99 - see here https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3142452&postcount=88 If you've bought from ED before you might get more off with reward po...

Re: Spit mkIX level speed inaccuracies

I was chatting to the guys on the DCS TS and was asked to have a look at the thread. It looks like you are recording results from the outside view in single player (which shows TAS) with correct atmospheric conditions - this is good. I think the major issue for me is you are comparing to just one sp...

Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod

Did you manage to find a way to decrease external engine sounds (i.e. the sound of other aircraft engines) vs the sound of our own engine (as heard from the cockpit rather than F2)? I do like the mod but can't stand the fact that I can hear all other aircraft engines over my own.

Re: DCS capability questionaire

I think Nitrous and Jockel have answered pretty accurately to the best of my knowledge on what DCS can support right now on the current Caucasus map in the 1.5 engine. I'd add: - the Caucasus map isn't the most optimised map and in our tests we've found multiplayer numbers vary depending on what are...

Re: Diveplane Spitfire mk IX sound mod

I adjusted (increased) the levels of the .303s and cannon in the weapon mod to use alongside Diveplane's sound mod. So that's an option if people want to use both together; it was very simple to do and I can post the details if anyone is interested. However, the problem I've found is that Diveplane'...

Re: DCS Compressibility

Topic piqued my interest. I have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever so I did a forum search... Found a couple of threads on the subject including an old thread from the beta (2012) where it seems what you are describing as a bug - the ability to start the P51 with magnetos off - is apparently not a ...
