Eduard 1/48 FW190D-9 Pic Heavy

Post by ArcEye » Fri Jun 10, 2022 7:05 pm

So I fancied the idea of building my Dora that I've used through the Wacht am Rhein campaign.

So I got hold of an Eduard Profipack kit and started the Assembly.

Lots of detail and photo etch to fight with but got there in the end. Next problem was how to do my Ghost nose art.

Image

So i cut a similar shape in masking tape sprayed a white base stuck ghost on, sprayed some yellow masked the lightning and then Sprayed the Camo.

Did have a bit of a disaster moment when it Fell off the table breaking the prop and the attena attachment for the tail.

In the end I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The ghost is slightly wrong the Peddinghaus Priller Decals were very thick and didn't conform as well as I would have liked and the 7 is the wrong style. But I think I got the weathering and dirtiness pretty good on this one.

lovely work. Great job on the Ghost too. I've been learning to use a Silhouette cutting machine to make masks and replicate nose art like this. You might check out the Silhouette masking page on Facebook. I don't understand the whole process but some of the builders there have made incredibly detailed and small masks for things like this.

That looks fantastic, I've just finished the Weekend version, not the easiest of builds!

Cheers,

Was definitely not a straight forward build, the amount of work to get the stuff you only see through the maintenance hatch or wheel wells right was mind boggling.

Excellent work. Too bad about the drop to the floor but you recovered nicely. We are seeing a lot of 1 Man Army products selling on our website. https://modelairplanedepot.com/collecti ... paint-mask
