Yeah, latest ICM kits have really good reviews.Nev wrote: Are the kits any Good?
As always I admire the very delicate weathering you applied, Secu

Thank you all
But the détails are good, the cockpit is nice even if barely invisible.
cheers
Yes, but they aren't for beginners, in this one the undercarriage is weak, there is a gap to fill at the wing roots, the assembly of the exhaust pipes and the engine cowl need patience and skills.Yeah, latest ICM kits have really good reviews.

Really smart Secu - excellent work!
Re: I-16 1/48 ICM once again
I just started an Academy version. Your model looks terrific. What paint did you use for the underside and top green?
I've been debating which scheme to do. Tempted to try my hand at the white painted version.
I also love the weathering on the wing roots. How did you accomplish it?

Howdy Ya'll!

Amazing work Secu. You should post some constuction (WIP) pictures of you next project. I would also love to see your build process that leads up to these wonderful creations.
Re: I-16 1/48 ICM once again
A Mix, I read that the AII green was close to the US interior green so I mixed 50% of "Prince August Air interior green" with 50% of "Prince August Air WWII light green" (a kind of RLM 82).What paint did you use for the underside and top green?
I found these paints in a wargame shop in my town and the color looks good to me.
For the blue it's the same than my Lagg-3 the Vallejo Model Air AMT 17, lightened with white.
As usual for me with a lot of simple technique, I 'am a kind of tester, each model I try new things. For this one in the orderweathering on the wing roots. How did you accomplish it?
- Chipping with sponge paint in the primer coat color, this part was in wood with a basecote of "nitroputty" a reddish beige wood protection paint.
- Maskol with a sponge once again and a light (barely invisible) coat of smoke paint, and remove the maskol
- Colored a little bit with brown artist oil paint applied with a hard brush, just little coat, a kind of "brown hase"
- And finally some earth pigment, before varnish.
I started a Mig-3, I will try to find the time to take pictures of the build. You should post some constuction (WIP) pictures of you next project
