Post Scriptum - 9th SS Panzer Division

Hey everyone,

as you might have noticed we currently have the 1st Parachute Regiment forming which is one side of the battle of Arnhem being represented in the game.

On the other side was the 9th SS Panzer Division fighting against those British invaders.
For now, I'd like to gauge the interest of playing such a division in the game. So if you prefer germans over brits let me know.

If you're wondering what you can expect from such a Division gameplay wise, here is your answer:

Infantry, using trucks and half-tracks, will still be a huge part, partly by game mechanics as you need 20 players on a side to unlock tank crews needed to drive those.

Second to that are vehicular assets which ranged in the Division from Sdkfz. 222 as recon units, different types of tanks (Panzer 3 and 4, Panther and Tiger), tank destroyers/assault guns (Stug 3 and Jagdpanzer 4). Those tanks will be heavily restricted by available tank crews who are the only classes able to drive those beasts. Judging by a Youtube video I estimate around 3-4 tanks being able to operate at the same time.

Lastly but most importantly are logistics to place FOB's (Forward Operating Bases), shuffling resources around to build additional buildings in the FOB, to allow us to repair vehicles on the front lines and rearm.

If you have further questions or want to bring the fight to the 1st Parachute Regiment let me know.

Edit:

Squad composition
We're bound by the game to the same squads as the brits which would mean 9 men per Squad.
Information I could gather so far:
The leader of a Panzergrenadier squad had an MP40 or STG44 later in the war.
2 lmg's were present in the squad.
The weapon of choice for the remaining 6 man should be the STG44, but lot's of information I read so far indicate that those were actually pretty rare (same with the gewehr41/43)
As a result, most men had to use the 98k, those men were also able to carry different types of handheld AT weapons.
(I cannot guarantee the historical value of the composition I posted above, feel free to provide more information if you know more than me)

Since we're not sure yet how specialised kits will be limited within a squad we'll wait before posting an actual squad composition we should use.

regular events will be hold on Saturdaysl, starting 21:00 BST

enlisted men: 26 Troopers as of 03.08.2018 @ 22:48 CEST

I see no reason why we can't do both. I would definitely like to participate in both.

Superb initiative berethor. Sorry that I couldn't assist as requested but I had my head filled with some wedding preparations (daughter) these last days and wasn't able to invest time in other things.

I don't have PS yet, but will in the near future, and would be interested in a slot. I also have two others that are willing to join forces.

Cheers, Grom
