Yes, make sense. I have a couple of "joyloc" clamps (Google it to see photos) which are little floating platform things with a clamp at one end. They don't seem to make them anymore, which is a shame. They sold for about 80EUR each iirc, which was pretty expensive for what they are, but I've never regretted buying mine - great bit of kit. In fact, I'd go so far as to say essential for throttles.

I think a Virpil mount would work too, with some adaption, and they are only around £50 or so.

I have a virtually unused Warthog throttle, overkill for me, for sale, find out the cheapest on line and somebody can have mine for 1/2 price. B.
Still for sale, previous buyer not turned up or explanation given.

I think that the primary reason why Warthog is a good choice is that if you'd ever feel like flying something more advanced than props you'll definitely find additional switches and buttons handy.

If jets make you feel nauseous then getting a Warthog would propably be an overkill.

There is the caveat that once/if you VR up then you can't see shit on your keyboard - so having plenty of (fairly) easy to remember switches and buttons on your HOTAS helps. I know that for some of the Russian BoX aircraft I need most of them - particularly if you start to add bombs into the mix.

S'true. You can NEVER have enough buttons. I like flicking them up and down - makes me feel like a pro.

Thanks for the steer on the Joylocs and the Virpil clamps. The first seems to have gone bust but the second seems to be struggling to keep up with orders! I think I might make a ‘period’ version of one of these and see how it looks with the throttle quad.
Here is my old one in its proper home. Six buttons, throttle, mixture and revs.

Not bad after 2000 hours. I think the chrome rubbed off the horn button and the chipped paint look even better!
