Saitek X52 Pro throttle
~S~ All,
About a week ago I had three controls on my X52 Pro throttle began acting up .
The throttle itself started to require further movement before the movement was recognized ( Blitz and Stalingrad and
FSX ) ..
The RX axis for my radiators, and the RY axis for the oil radiator . These Axises on the throttle are the rotating ones on top
and lower right hand side . Both the RX and the RY axises go from o° to 100° without a gradual change percent wise (
ie: 0 -> 100 or 100 -> 0 ) as soon as I turn the rotating button .
Just prior to these issues ...
1 ) Ms update
2) an install of FSX ( Steam )
In calibration areas, all problem axises show to be working correctly ..
Current attempts to correct problems included ...
1 ) The obvious reboot ....... games and computer
2) re-calibrated throttle
2 ) a rollback to an earlier restore point
3) plugging and unplugging Throttle ( after computer starts etc. )
4) registry change IE: deleting VID ( the X52 one only , as there is a VID for each device ) and then reboot, did not help.
5 ) used a spare X52 throttle and got the same results as above...
Given that I have three flight sims that there are suffering from the same problem , I don't ' think' that a game reinstall
should be necessary . Also , if the controls appear to work properly in the calibration area , I also don't ' think ' that a driver
reinstall would be required , but I will if it is deemed required . .
Any suggestions ?

Re: Saitek X52 Pro throttle
Are all Games run through Steam? I know that Steam 'can' fuck up controllers if a certain setting is active.
I will search for it and post if found.

Re: Saitek X52 Pro throttle
In Steam, upper left corner, click on:
Steam -> Settings -> Controller
Check if Steam bond your Throttle to anything
(If you cant find some of them, maybe its because I translated them wrong, my Steam is in German ...)
Hope this fixes your problem

Re: Saitek X52 Pro throttle
Konaber,
I followed up on your suggestion but even when I chose the x52 option, all that came up was a game pad configuration which wasn't the throttle configuration . Thanks for the help , but no joy ....

Re: Saitek X52 Pro throttle
Thats the thing about this Steam Controller stuff. It trys to map all controllers to a gamepad style controller. So if your throttle was mapped in there to a virtual gamepad button/axis, try removing that bind.
If nothings mapped, then I'm out of ideas for now, sorry :/

Konaber.....
Just for clarity , I never did any mapping through Steam and there was no mapping shown to be chosen in the Steam controller section.
Thanks again for your suggestions . I do think that FSX and the mapping there might have caused an issue so my next step might be to uninstall FSX and see if that works .

Re: Saitek X52 Pro throttle
It appears that micro soft update was the issue . I rolled sys restore back to middle of July and that has cleared up the problem .
Re: Saitek X52 Pro throttle
Classic Windoof, glad you figured it out
