A crate descends from the sky by parachute over St Omer on August 19th 1941 dropped by F/Sgt John Nicholson of the RCAF and his 18 Squadron crew aboard Blenheim R3843 WV-F. Earlier that day six Blenheims took off from RAF Manston tasked with a raid on the enemy airfield at St Omer with John and his crew delivering a crate containing a tin leg for Douglas Bader. On September 20th that year the crew were lost aboard this aircraft during a raid on shipping off Zandvoort.
