Well, that's not entirely up to Trump, is it? Moscow has to take care of preserving calm situation as well, I guess.

As far as i know putin and trump get a long with each other and it was clinton who threatened russia with millitary actions.
So i guess for peace sake this was the better choise. As for other things it remains to be seen.
