I had no idea that Sussex people were expected to join the Luftwaffe! I wish someone had told me earlier before I spent so much time learning the Hurricane. Oh well, I suppose the basics are transferable so it shouldn't take that long to convert to the 109. I'll get into a squadron one day.

Bit miffed that the cash I have been saving to upgrade my kit will now have to go to Rosetta Stone for German lessons, though. I did German at school but forgot every word of it the moment I left and have felt much better ever since. Mind you my German accent was the most execrable my German master had ever heard in his thirty years of teaching it (which included time giving German lessons to fellow POWs in StalagLuft something or other). I just hope my new comrades will not be offended.

I think you will find the type they are referring to, a form of kiss chase with a round ball, is actually called Association Football. Nothing like Rugger but it seems to be enjoyed by the erks.

I'm offended and laughing all at the same time - it's like reading a Private Eye cover :D Two thumbs up, excellent work :nice: :nice:

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.
