Could do, although that will require a small overhead as I would need to periodically poll the database to see when the mission status changes as opposed to just using a single timer. My preference was actually to work out a mechanism to release the file to individuals once they submit AARs (or at least had them accepted) ... but Brass weren't having *none* of that.

Maybe you could still use the timer, but say, 2359 on the Sunday. That way it dosent matter if mission was closed as anyone wanting to fly that weeks mission would have had to have report accepted anyhow.

True, but that still wouldn't have helped with the track not being recorded last week. Plus the longer it goes on, the more people forget it - it's human nature to want to watch a replay as soon after the event as possible (and having spent so long creatin git, I want people to use it as opposed to going "meh, you have to wait too long to see the track"). Personally I would rather release it as early as possible - but Computer Says No. :)

I guess that's the trust element with writing reports right there

Exactly. Personally I think we should trust people - and If I can get a way to give people a download on report approval I think we should enable it. May even bring the reports in quicker...

As Ronald Reagan said about the Russians INF Treaty, I will leave you with three words. "Trust, but verify". :salute:

Ok, there is a GCV track for the BlackDog test mission of 4th May 2018. However, certainly for some tracks, it's broken. This is because I see that at least some people were re-flying, and in those instances the GCV has not always managed to determine when one flight ended and the next began. Meaning that paths for any of those who did this will be out of sync with everybody else.

This. I'm often a lazy arse who waits until the last minute on Saturday to file my AAR (Miki will no doubt testify to this) although I use the 'terribl busy' excuse.

Bringing the last submission time to a mid-week Wednesday would allow Thursday/Friday training to make use of it, and might also give all the other lazy arses a kick up the, well, arse.

Of course, it might also jeopordise the longer tomes from Jammy, Broady et al, which would be a shame :)
