I was just trying the G-14 in newly released Bodenplatte.
Lemme just tell you, I'm starting to get why so few of those survived to these days.

Why is that? I'm quite successful in it, especially against the new american planes...

It's just... not good. Like, it's not terrible or unflyable but just not good enough. I'm sure you can do well in it in right circumstances but it still doesn't make it good.
Too slow, and high speed maneuverability is just abysmal. After flying the Mustang daily since BoBp came out even the Dora hardly presents a challenge and the G-14 is just a mid-day snack in comparison.
I'd argue that the worst thing about any later 109 is that you just can't outdive anyone because you will get cought up with, and once that happens, all you can do is deflect the stick and watch the plane do nothing, as Mustangs or Tempests still retain fantastic responsiveness and easily maintain gun solutions.

I still firmly believe that who's behind the stick is more important what kind of a stick is this, as proven by DaHeld himself who does well in a G-14 and was surprised that I don't like it. The fact that some aircraft are superior to other's though, remains a fact, and nobody's arguing about it. I'm pressing the left button, all the way.

I agree, it's the pilot that determines most outcomes. Personally, the G-14 is a favorite of mine, and have had good success against the P51 so far in it, but much is depending on surprise and true traditional LW boom n zoom tactics.
