Re: two sims for night traps (Hornets)
Having done a good bit of night traps in DCS's Hornet I gotta say that it's not really that hard.
It's pretty hard compared to an VFR airfield approach in a cropduster, but really not something that can't be mastered.
On a clear night you can see boat's lights from miles away, you're coming straight in, and you have ILS to help with the line up - really hard to fuck it up (sorry, Sharpe).
Now, here's where it gets hard. Dawn/dusk, overcast, fog, and all that jazz -that's the enviroment where the biggest ballers might litter themselves. Nothing's more scary than not being able to tell up from down, while gliding at 800 feet, while suddenly the boat emerges from the mist underneath you. 10/10 would recommend.
EDIT: Also, that guy in the first video does a terrible job and his landing is completely not by the book.
