'It takes the [Royal] Navy three years to build a ship, but it would take three hundred years to rebuild a tradition; the evacuation will continue.'
Viscount Andrew B. Cunningham's reply when it was suggested that the evacuation of Crete should be called off due to excessive losses and thus, abandoning 16,500 men to capture.

Together we can walk miles, 7 inches at a time.

"I'll even ask you not to shoot me..."

Did you learn some Russian?

Brilliant! I just spent 5 minutes chasing down and wrecking a P-40 in career, which would have been fine except I was flying a MiG at the time. Yay for VR resolution...

At least he didn't chute kill you after you bailed.

ah the BoX players are charm, yesterday 109 clear a 109 from my 6, and a week ago yak cleared me from 109s 6, also if you ever fly p-40, dont expect russians will know your p-40 always think they are going for you like your in 190, after few min of df they will maybe recognise it or youll have to shoot them down in worst case :D

Fortunately for me, the worst I’ve had to deal with was just some guy telling me to hang myself. I’ve been fortunate enough to evade the gunsights if my teammates... mostly.

One time, a Bf-110 I was in was crippled by a Bf-109... and the same happened to the Bf-110 right next to us... :suicide:

ah man, tough break... I would be beyond livid. Nothing pisses me off more than an idiot that can't tell friend from foe. On;y thing that would have been worse if the 109 shot you out of your parachute .

Well something like that did happen in the real war; though the case I know off was a Spitfire pilot, Bluey Truscott of 452 Sqn misidentified one of his own for a 109 and shot him down; he then shot at him in his parachute, but I'm not clear on whether he hit him or not.

Friendly fire was not that uncommon in the real thing; at least we get to hit refly, when it happens to us.
