Sunday June 16th - Blitz Event

Post by BlackDog » Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:46 am

Hi everyone,

As you will have seen from Luft's post, next Sunday see's us return to Cliffs for a 'BayS' (Blitz at your Six) style event. This event will be open to ALL of ACG and elsewhere (TFS, ATAG, TAW, Etc).

The evening will consist of TWO missions and the briefing will be given at 7pm for both sides (LW & RAF) on the ACG TS Channels. Pilots will have three lives (use them wisely).

More details will be posted on Tuesday but for now, please spread the word, share wherever you can and lets get a proper 100+ pilot turnout if we can! :D

More information on Tuesday - Hope to see as many of you as can make it on Sunday!

IL2 Cliffs of Dover Blitz event at ACG

Sunday June 16th

Target/specifics mission briefing 7pm BST in both LW briefing room and RAF briefing room channels on ACG Cliffs of Dover Teamspeak channel.

Expected take-off time – 7.30pm BST

Hello everyone,

We decided to run a BayS style event on Sunday during the campaign break. This is meant to be an enjoyable reflection of the past and chance and opportunity to see some of the new effects that TFS have introduced in the 4.55 update.

It will also allow opportunity for those who have not migrated to our IL2 Battle of Moscow Campaign, the chance to fly with old colleagues and squadron/staffel mates.

The format of the evening will be a ‘Live’ dynamic session, with two missions slated for the evening. There will be a 10-15 minute reset of the server and briefing session for Mission TWO. So expect a good few hours of flight time.

As mentioned you will have THREE pilot lives and we ask that you are honourable about this. If you use up two lives in the first mission, maybe standby until the second mission, to experience that mission. Pilots will be able to switch sides or units during the changeover. Again I encourage you to do this and to try something new!

The second mission will see the opportunity to try Blenheims in a raid and more importantly, the chance to escort a large Wellington Bomber raid, but more on that during the mission briefings on the day.

I would like to encourage you to reach out to other units – JG4, ATAG, etc and let’s make this an enjoyable Cliff’s event!

Please also sign up below, requesting Unit assignment for both missions. Please do this as soon as possible, to allow me to plan and make adjustments accordingly, i.e. don’t suddenly decide on Sunday!

Please use DEFAULT paint scheme and select the in-game unit according to allocation below. You need to agree a flight leader and also assign each pilot with an identifying letter/number.

Also, some of you video making ACES, please record this, it should be good fun!

The outline for the evening will be as follows;

As mentioned, briefings will be given in the briefing channels, which is where pilots waiting for the next mission can also gather.

A word of caution – This is the first time we have run this on the new server and with this new version of Cliffs, please bear this in mind if we encounter any issues, which will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Server will restart between missions.

I will not be flying, but will instead take ‘Zeus’ like role, as ‘Saturn Control’ for the Luftwaffe and ‘Top Hat Control’ for the RAF.

It would be fantastic if we can get more than 50 pilots up for this and if we get near 100, I’ll adjust the AI bomber count to try and keep the experience as smooth as possible.

Mission time period is set for early November 1940

I hope you all enjoy!

:salute:

I'll jump into a Spitty or a 109 depending on how the numbers are like.
