Desert Wings Tobruk OnLine Event Saturday Aug 6 1900 UTC

Post by ATAG Pattle » Wed Aug 03, 2022 12:16 pm

Following the huge successes of our last two community events, where we saw full servers of 83 plays battling it out over South East England, and the Isle of Wight, this weekend everyone has been transferred for service in North Africa!

The Team Fusion Simulations Server 3 (TFS Server 3) allows for an expanded, and massive 100 player base.

Intel is that the crack multi national Wimpy squadron, led by the famed Squadron Leader Lord Gray Marlow VC DFC DSO NFI , his chief Navigator Flt Lt Jeepy Compasson and master bomber Flying Officer Snarglepuss 'SNAFU' McCanuckson, are back from leave and practicing for their next big show - highly likely to be this event!

Mission for the event will be:

Operation Sandstorm, April  4th, 1941

TIME: 1700
WEATHER: Clear skies
WIND:  35 degrees at 3 m/s (7 mph)

Red Briefing

Fighter aircraft are located at all active airfields.
Bomber aircraft are located at all active airfields except Amseat No. 1 and No. 2.

SITREP

We have begun to push back the Axis advance. The town of Bardia is now within our grasp. Our ground forces are pushing through German lines to the south while our re-supply at Sidi Barrani is well underway.

An amphibious assault has now begun at the beaches just north of Bardia and our forces are already pushing south in a pincer movement. We hope to secure the town of Bardia before dawn.

FIGHTER ORDERS:

Protect our amphibious assault and our re-supply from German and Italian aircraft. Provide cover to Allied bomber forces.

Axis fuel convoy reported leaving Almiah Alkhafia, heading east and then north towards Ghawat Al Arnab. (1 point)
Axis AAA convoy reported leaving Tobruk harbor, heading west along the coast towards Fort Beddud. (1 point)

Radar installations reported near Gambut, Sidi Rezegh, and Bir el Gubi. Destroy all three radar stations. (1 point) OR
Radar headquarters building may also be located and destroyed, which will destroy the radar and award without destroying all radar stations. (1 point)
