Battle of Britain On Line Event Saturday 20th Aug 1800 UTC

Post by ATAG Pattle » Wed Aug 17, 2022 12:36 pm

Hi All,

This weekend, we find ourselves back on the ATAG server and fighting over the burning hot 1940 skies of SE England.

Starting earlier this weekend, we hope that this time will work for European players that are generally unable to stay up later at night.

The event will go for 4 hours to allow as many players as possible to participate.

We will continue to move our event times about a bit to capture community member in all regions of the world.

Keep an eye our for the mission briefing later in the week.

If the Bomber boys get through and complete the mission objectives within the 4 hour event, a new mission will start shortly after, for everyone to get stuck back in.

Thanks again for everyone who has been taking part over the last month. Every event has been massive! :)

Remember the ATAG server has an 83 player capacity, so jump in as soon as you can, and if you miss out at the start, keep an eye on player movements, so you can jump in at the earliest opportunity.

Event Mission and Briefing!

Raiders - Winter map

Red Briefing

0900 hrs

Winds from the W @ 4 knots.

4 days ago the allies launched a large raid on the coastal French city of Boulogne with the sole intent of causing the German forces in the region to focus their attention and resources into that area, thus distracting them from allied efforts elsewhere in the ETO. So far we have been successful in doing just that, so the fight continues. The RAF and it's allies have been extremely busy supporting this effort and continues to fly sorties both in aid of the ground forces, and against strategic targets and Luftwaffe airbases in the area.

The Luftwaffe has not seemed to be affected enough to cease their attacks on England, and therefore still continue to attack our coastal airbases, as well as inland rail and factory targets. Our re-supply ships currently located due west of Boulogne have also been victim of constant attack and harassment, and have asked for increased fighter protection.

Fighter Command orders:

-Escort, patrol, protect Bridges in Boulogne, protect an artillery firebase east of Boulogne, protect the ships west of Boulogne.
-Our airfeilds at Lympne, Littlestone, and Hawkinge are under threat! Hawkinge and Littlestone are homebase to all of our spit IIa and Hurricane FB equipped squadrons.
-A railyard in Faversham, Maidstone Factory, Tenterdam Communications Relay, and an Artillery factory near Battle must be protected!
-Minensuchboots are moving southwards towards our supply fleet, last spotted near Wissant.. They must be stopped!
-Trains may be spotted leaving St. Omer and Estree areas. If you see them, attack them!

Bomber Command targets/values:

=10= BD 21.6 Bourbourg Fuel distribution Facility (by rail)
=10= BE 19.5 St. Omer Munitions Factory
=10= BA 18.3 Samer Railyard
=10= BA 16.6 Estree infantry dispersal camp
=10= BC 15.9 Hesdin Railyard
=10= BD 16.2 Fruges Communication HQ
=10= Minensuchboots moving south from Wissant area

Destroy Luftwaffe Airfeilds nearest the front: (We believe that Campaign Les Guines is home to the 109 Jabo's and the 109 E-4N variants, the others having E-4 variants

=15= LW Marquise West
=15= LW Campagne Les Guines
=15= LW Desvres

85 = victory

AIRSPAWNS "RAF airborne" for Beaufighter and Blenheim IV late are available.

Blue Briefing

0900 hrs

Winds from the W @ 2 m/s.

4 Days ago England and her allies launched a raid into the city of Boulogne. Our ground forces have the city surrounded and the enemy shall soon suffer a total collapse. The Luftwaffe is supporting this effort, and plays a key role in throwing these "raiders' back to the sea. Aside from our regular duties with the bombing campaign against England, we will assist our army by taking out key bridges and artillery locations, as well as destroying the enemy re-supply ships in the channel.

JG. orders:

-Escort, patrol, and protect our troop staging area near Estree, and the railyards in Samer and Hesdin.
-Valuable fuel distribution and a munitions factory in the northern sectors must also be patrolled, as well as the Fruges communication HQ.
-Our frontline airfeilds are under threat! Cover them carefully, especially Campagne Les Guines, which is homebase to our E-1 Jabos and the 109 E-4N!
-Our troop trains may need air cover when called upon. One travelling from St Omer west to Samer, another travelling from Estree, to the coast, then north to Boulogne.

Bombing orders/values:

=25= 5 Enemy supply/troop ships inbound west of Boulogne
=10= 2 Bridges in Boulogne centre (1 rail, 1 regular)
=10= BA 19.1 Enemy artillery base east of Boulogne
=10= AU 25.6 Faversham Railyard
=10= AS 21.1 Battle Artillery Factory
=10= AS 24.1 Maidstone Factory
=10= AT 22.8 Tenterdam Communications Relay

Destroy the following RAF Airfeilds: (We believe Hawkinge and Littlestone are home to Spitfire IIa and Fighter-Bomber squadrons)

=15= RAF Hawkinge
=15= RAF Lympne
=15= RAF Littlestone

95 = victory

AIRSPAWNS "CAI airborne" for BR20's are available.

*Bomber base frequencies : Oye Plage 318 (includes Lorenz Landing System), and Boulogne 306.

See you there!
