Feedback: Honestly the tracer was fine in all versions up to 4.5 onwards, then it turned into the glowing orange blur balls, which looks shit. Same as the prop effect, which was great until some bright spark thought that human eye were like cine-cameras, and they completely ruined it.

The tracers didn't change in 4.5? The tracer visuals have always been the same since day one. What are you referring to?
Re: TFS Update: Tobruk
I think its the render in 3Ds max. It does have the tendency to change colours depending on what lighting you select for the render...Huff Duff wrote:Why does that Friedrich cockpit look RLM02-ish to my eye?
I guess it is RLM 66 with too harsh lights...
Re: TFS Update: Tobruk
Thats correct. Aircraft tracers did NOT change in TF4.5. Have not even touched them.Sylmaron wrote:The tracers didn't change in 4.5? The tracer visuals have always been the same since day one. What are you referring to?

However if if you have less that max graphics setting in the video options, the tracers will look different. Has been that way since vanilla Clod in 2011. Cant remember which exact setting it is that must be on max but it is one of them.
The only tracer that did change in TF4.5 was the 40mm BOFORS AAA gun. Those tracers used to be very transparent dark blue and are now in TF4.5 glowing red as per reference.
Re: TFS Update: Tobruk
Maybe tracers didn't change but something else did, Kling. Like there is some kind of veil over the picture compared to 4.3.
Not to mention bullet impacts that are almost invisible now.

Bullet impacts almost invisible? We might be playing different games
Re: TFS Update: Tobruk
To be fair, last campaign mission I accidentally launched good ol' Cliffs instead of Cliffs Blitz so maybe Vranac made the same mistake?

Re: TFS Update: Tobruk
This is confusing. The second thing I noticed (after the awful prop animation) was the tracers looking different. But if you are saying that it's a setting then that's good news as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah they do look the same, so why are mine different? What setting is it?

Yes, we might Onebad. Those impact 'puffs' are missing...Onebad wrote:Bullet impacts almost invisible? We might be playing different games

And Dickie is correct, but he didn't found a very good example. The difference is much more noticeable at a bit more distance 200-300 m where you need tracers, actually.

In game under video options, make sure the "visual effects" is set to high and nothing else!
