Tank In Flames WW2 tournament

Hi All,

JG1 (https://jg1.org/) is organizing a new "dead-is-dead" WW2 tournament called Tank In Flames (TIF).

Tank In Flames will be run in IL-2 Great Battles.  We're looking to have test missions on Saturday, 27 March and Saturday, 3 April.  We'll start a 4-week campaign phase on Saturday, 10 April 2021.

As a review, "dead-is-dead" means that each player will only have one pilot life per night. If the player is killed, or captured, they are done as a pilot for that mission.  However, all participants will have unlimited lives as tail gunners and tankers.

Official registration for TIF will start on Friday, 5 March 2021 at 11:00AM EST / 4:00PM UTC.  Pilots interested in participating must register.  This is so that we can build fair and even teams.

For your squadron, you can mass register pilots. Just let me know their names, their timezones, and if they'd like to be a pilot, tank driver, or both.

Hey Klaiber!! Nice to see you guys getting stuff organized still! Was thinking about reaching out recently, so we must be on the same page!

Hey Shade, great to see you're doing well! This project has been a long one to develop, but it's definitely worth it.

And to clarify, despite the name "Tanks In Flames," TIF is an air war primarily. Hence the dead-is-dead rules for pilots.

However, player controlled tanks are necessary to capture territory, hence the unlimited lives as tail gunners and tankers.

The plane-set will be late 1944 / early 1945, and will be finalized by representatives from all participating squadrons.
