That is the correct site.
It has nothing to do with Steam.You do not need Steam to run BoX.
CLoD has nothing to do with il-2 BoS. Just treat it like an entirely different game and register on the site with an email/password.

ok, thx.

but the plot thickens. i go to register, and it says user name (Zyk) is already in use. if this is not connected to steam, and i don't have an account here, would somebody else be using that name, or is it actually connected to steam somehow? total confusion on my end, now.

i had to change my name to 'zyk1' then it worked. got BOM standard version ordered.now to figure out where to find it or how to download it or whatever i have to do.....can anyone guide me what to do, where to find it, etc? i never got a game through an online thing, i always got discs...

UPDATE: i got the game downloaded and installed, but when i try to start i get a 'failed to load backend library' message. waiting on an answer from the il-2 guys, i guess.....

The Spit should be available to purchase on its own as a collector plane once Kuban is fully released (in the next week or so would be my guess)

That is absolutely true. The Hispano ingame is about as effective as the 23mm VYa cannon, so proooobably a bit on the "too effective" side of things. *G* But to be honest, since the Spit mostly has to fight vastly superior opponents in terms of flight characteristics, I don't mind that much.
