Operation Ironclad

She's getting on in the years now, but we still like to jump in the saddle occasionally.

Operation Ironclad

Post by Cule » Sun Nov 15, 2020 12:39 pm

Yesterday some of us ran a couple of the missions in the Ironclad campaign (Invasion of Madagascar). Fleet air arm plus Rhodesian, Australian, Raj and South African forces vs the Vichy French and Japan.

Would be nice to have more ACG chaps doing occassional 1946 stuff which we can't get through BoX/CloD/DCS

My IL2 1946 with HSFX mod is available for download here. It's the game version that runs whats left of the 1946 community

This is a plug and play installation folder, just download and unpack it on your desktop or somewhere, open il2fb.exe and play.

Ginger, in that case, you need to have the game version 4.12.2 and install HSFX7 https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=37309.0

I think it may be a problem because steam auto updates to the latest version so you'll be stuck on 4.13.4 and will have to downgrade and I don't know whether that is possible

So the plug and play folder above may still be your easiest way

I'm ready for the old year 1946. If you can, post a few days in advance.
I'm ready!

Next friday we might repeat Ironclad. We can also go pacific, with missions in Burma.
Alternatively we could not do co-ops but dynamic dogfights. For those we can choose between all kinds of theatres that BoX doesn't offer. Pacific missions available are Singapore '41, Sumatra '41, Guadalcanal ("Tokyo express"), Okinawa "kamikaze" etc.
