Testing IL2 1946
The official thread for the unofficial testing of IL2 1946, the aim being (for shits and giggles) to test the old girl in terms of playability in the current modern world, where men are real men, women are real women, and small furry creatures from Newcastle are real small furry creatures from Newcastle.

Now you tell me.
Any particular reason you prefer HSFX to BAT?

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.

Re: Testing IL2 1946
If someone know how can I have the 6DOF working in BAT ? I have it in HSFX but not with BAT.
Re: Testing IL2 1946
The big thing for BAT is that its clearly a mod "pack" with numerous mods mushed together which creates the issue of having a lack of a standard for the aircraft. Some like the Typhoon have flawless looking interiors, whereas some have the interior of a ten year olds art project. On top of the server and whatever else, we need to make a list of what planes are a "no go" in terms of quality.
HSFX is nice, smaller, and much more consistent. However it lacks the sheer amount of content BAT has, so depending on what we use it for may dictate how we proceed. Myself and Bunny tossed the idea around briefly that doing scenarios in 1946 could fill our campaign breaks, which could help bridge us a little better. Due to being in a different time zone I can only attend weekend events and with such a busy schedule its hard to make the campaign nights regularly without accounting for off time when breaks occur. So implementing something still serious enough to encourage attendance but completely separate could be a fun idea, but this route means BAT could be the better option as it has so many aircraft that we aren't going to hit a wall in terms of what these scenarios could be. The assets provided can be anything from CAS over Normandy, Air superiority over Korea, or escorts over Vietnam.
However for a more dedicated use HSFX works better, it has a smaller file load and has extremely high quality assets tailored to World War 2 era aircraft (and a little bit of the 50's too) so we still have quite a bit of quantity but not as many theaters. However for what we do here in ACG that isn't really that much of an issue, since WW2 is what I would consider our bread and butter.
Any thoughts?

Secu mentioned that he has both installed - just in separate folders. That would solve your issue Broady (except you've already deleted the HSFX version ).
Secu - I'm not sure, but in World at War, in the Setup (from Main Menu screen), then Misc Settings, I have the 6DOF option already there listed. I've only tried it in the Typhoon and it works there, I don't really remember doing anything special when I installed the game.

Re: Testing IL2 1946
I've just installed 1946 with HSFX and have a basic question 'cause I'm basically a computer remtard. Does 1946 recognize a Saitek Pro throttle quadrant? I've tried but have had no success. Not really keen on going back to keystrokes for throttle control.
