Today we got off in good enough order, but i fumbled the rendezvous.Soon I'd lost my new wingman, StaryM****. Grey was receiving orders in rapid fire manner. He gave the order for meeting over the enemy ships; the target of our bombers. I climb to patrol altitude without seeing a soul. initially. It wasn't long before Grey and I had joined to patrol the area together, as the 2nd schwarm was being steadily reduced in numbers. Soon Grey made out a bogey that turned into t a Spit. Grey attacked it and I tried to give him cover. A quick glance over my shoulder revealed a bandit closing to firing range, and i flicked over to pull underneath him. i instantly lost visual on Grey. In my downward break I wound up at the edge of a furball, and informed Grey I was extending north towards Manston. But i never made it. The RAF had me cornered and I lost energy while turning to defeat several attacks on me. One particularly direct blast and both my rads gave it up, my plane writing across the sky in gray and black smoke for the whole damned RAF to see! I went to from being meat on the table to chicken feed. By mutual agreement I was allowed to crash land in Blighty, which I did. In a nice soft meadow of cushioning tall grass. Lucky to be alive, and not wounded. Now to get home. I was not far from a small coastal town that no doubt was a fishing hub before the Brits got all indignant over the Wehrmacht cutting off their supply of continental cuisine. So I can't blame them, but I can't stay! I spent the day evading the local constables, doubling back to come up behind them, at a distance. Soon it grew dark enough for me to have a go at borrowing a small skiff so I could make a cruise just after sunset. The ones available were in motley shape due to a lack of caer. The war. I chose what seemed to be the most sea-worthy, but what does a land lubber like me know about boats? If I could get far enough out to see without being seen in the fading light I'd have a chance to get into home waters by dawn, if these favorable winds held out. No doubt the guys are dividing up my gear even as I fiddle with raising the small sail. OK, guys! Have a drink on me, but I know how many marks I had under my pillow! I should be able to wrangle a few days off, and be in tip-top shape for the next mission. Now, where's the compase on this little thing?

Takeoff with Schwarm 1 went well and we proceeded to Dover in a nice formation. Didn't last though, as soon after engaging enemy fighters I got seperated, trying to discern friend from foe with the sky filled with milling planes. On the defensive throughout. I didn't get into any favourable situations on enemy fighters, and ended up having to dive away toward France with a Spitfire on my tail. He broke off, and I should have continued on home, instead I pulled up and tried to go offensive. The Spit turned back towards me and in the ensuing short lived dogfight, I got disorientated in a cloud, and when in control again I had the Tommy firmly on my six. He gleefully ,I imagine, filled my aircraft with MG rounds, and I baled out mid channel. That me gave another opportunity to greet my good friends from the Seenotdienst.

Flew as part of the second Schwarm with Reinhart led by Chumleigh as high cover, engaged the enemy over Dover - Damaged my airframe in evasive action from a Spitfire - landed back at base safely to swap aircraft.

EDIT Osprey. You are new so will let you off this bit It doesn't count because no refly if damaged.
Took off from Marquise East on a heading of 330, as I made feet wet we recieved a call to return to base, landed back at Marquise East.
No shots fired.

Nothing to report , Killed my engine during a stupid move , ditched over France waters .

Long Version :
It was a beautiful day in the channel .
I was designated last in the 5 staffle - which was the last staffle in the group , That means I was designated to be the last of the last , In Hebrew they call it "מאסף" (measef) - Picker .
I hated that position from the time I was in Basic Training .
Measef is the one with the biggest chance of getting lost .
Its not the being alone that bugs me , It's the fact that where ever you are is where the action is not .
The perfect position to do no good to anyone ... not even yourself .
I was following StaryM on the runway as he began his takeoff run ...
Took off directly behind him as he banked right .
Right away I noticed that he is the only contact I can see , a fact that I took as an omen of bad things to come .
We made our way to France Point when Gray our Schwarmfurrer came on the radio and announced that he is already heading to Dover and climbing to 4K .
StaryM began a wide left turn and I followed since he is new and was my responsibility .
He suddenly sharpened his turn , and made a very effective Evasive maneuver leaving me as I feared alone .
As I turned back I could see no one .
It was the beginning of the mission , and I was already frustrated , nervous and alone , which is not a good place to be in a mission .
Mid channel I have noticed a single contact heading towards France low (It was my Rotterfurrer Flyby - looking for me) .
I turned as instructed 330 and started a steep climb (Gray set an altitude of 4K) .
We setup a rendezvous point over she ships .
When I was circling over the ships in a right bank , I saw an amazing sight , It was my entire Schwarm .
Ecstatic I banked towards them and did the dumbest thing I could do .
They were all ~300 above me , I pushed the throttle forward and neglected to check my revs and my prop pitch .
The gentle E1 immediately reacted by blowing a gasket and the whole thing began to shiver like crazy ....
I have not Fracked up this bad since my earliest missions .
I was 4K high in a shaking bird with oil filling my windscreen , I attempted to glide towards France hoping my high altitude will save me , but the engine gave up and I began to lose speed - fast .
I knew I can advance towards France , but I will never land .
I did my best to clear the red lines and ditched over France waters .
I hope my superiors will realize that this mission does not depict my true abilities , anyway , the burden of proof is upon myself alone .

The whole 1.st schwarm took off with great success. We formed over Cap Gris Nez and then then we proceeded towards target ship convoy. Under the great leadership of kamarad Atreides, we assumed position over the target ship convoy and awaited our bombers. We guarded the first wave of bombers and then we spotted the british, attacking them. We joined the ruffle and I got separated. I tried to stay high and together with our forces. I managed to get one spitfire of somebody's 6, but cannot tell who that was. I managed to break away from 2 pursuing spitfires, but the third landed some hits on me and perforated my gas tank and electric systems. With my plane shaking badly, i decided to run so i dove to 1km and returned to France. At the point of landing, i was really low on gas so i was happy i took that decision. I managed to bend my prop, as the landing was a bit bumpy but all ended well.

I would like to apologize about filling the report late. Its my second report total and I did not know that you are supposed to do them on Sunday. As they say, not knowing is not an excuse, i take the blame on myself and this is the last time you see a late report from me. Over and out. <--- Osprey. Takeoff and form up went OK. Flying Schwarm 1 on Mason’s wing. Climb out went OK…..Got into a furball off the English coast over the ships. Took some rounds in the radiator. Dove away and cloud hopped back toward the French coast and got the “vibration”. Ditched in the channel off the French coast.

I took off with delay due to technical problems on my 109 but managed to catch up with 6th staffel again. When we were attacked by the Indianer I manuvered behind one Spitfire but wasn't able to get good hits on him. Turning my head around I realized that another Spit had jumped onto my six... Tracers were all around me and my left leg was scatched by a bullet. I dived for cloud cover and was able to shake him of my tail. When I recovered from the dive I had lost contact to the fight but I decided to rejoin the battle. After a long climb heading west the air was an battlefield again. I got behind one Spitfire and opend up on him but he escaped my bullets in a hard right hand turn.
Soon after Major Pitti called out to head for our home base. Just seconds later our Major called out a Spitfire on his six. I had no visual contact to him at this moment but with altitude advantage I managed to close up on him and his follower. In a slight right hand turn I opened fire with my mg. I doubt that I even hit him but the Spitfire let lose. Now the Tomy was in the devensive position. Minutes later he was finished off by Major Pitti at 14.44 just over the French coast near Wisant. I confirm this victory of Major Pitti over a Spitfire.
Less than five minutes later we were save on the ground again.
