We took off at 1143 to escort Stukas to their attack on Dover and Deal.
The Stukas split over Dover. On Group attacked the harbour and the other was to fly onwards to Deal to attack the train station. Somehow the Stukas seemed to be confused since they circled the dover area for some minutes before flying to Deal. Because of this we had to stay in the Dover area as well to protect them and were in static position.
At 1208 We were attacked by Spitfires from above. A dogfight started and all 3 mates of my Schwarm got damaged and had to head back home. I was fyling alone from then on but was still in radio contact with Schwarm 2 and the other Staffeln. It was a big dogfight going on between Dover and Deal.
After the Stukas finally managed to bomb the Deal trainstation the flew back to France at an altitude of 500m. A bit off the coast they got attacked by a Squadron of Hurricanes. I dived in and attacked them. I was the only 109 around fighting the 10 to 12 Huricanes. I heavily damaged three of them but due to the action I couldn't see if I shot them down or if they were able to keep on flying. By reaching the middle of the channel the las Hurricanes turned home.

I landed on Maqruise East at 1232. My 109 was without any damage.

First war mission with 6./ZG76 , escorting Stukas to Dover and Deal. Flew on Wolfs wing, and witnessed his kill on a Hurricane near Deal. Attacked by Hurricanes and Spitfires so we dived away with EA chasing us nearly to France. Landed Oy Plage.

This time we escorted some Stukas to Dover and Deal. West of Deal, we encountered quite a few Spitfires.

In our E-1s, we couldn't get away and so I was shot at shortly after and hit in the radiator.
I had to leave the area and headed home, but before I reached France, my engine quit and I had to ditch the plane into the sea, Wissant already in sight.
The Sea rescue service fished me out of the water soon after. I was returned to my Squadron only hours after the incident.

I had some trouble getting it off the ground - pretty embarrassing. Finally took off from Marquise East but I couldn't find either of my schwarms. I dove on a contact, but turned out it was another 109. Finally I was heading to where I believed Martin and Javelina were, but I came across a Hurricane. The hurricane put some rounds into me out of what seemed to be nowhere. I dove for the ground and tried to turn toward France, but never made it. He destroyed my oil gasket, and caused an oil leak. I knew it was only a matter of time. I took her as far as I could, and tried to belly down in the water but I ended up drowning. Better luck next time.

Aerodrome: Hydrequent (Marquise East)
Status: RTB.

Victory Claims:
I can confirm Keroth downed a Hurricane and a Spitfire.
-When the Stuka's were returning from Deal and were somewhat over the Channel he literally blew up a Hurricane (1222 – KW-A) which then crashed into the sea.
-A bit later he shot at a Spitfire that was following me, which then broke off. We circled against him. Unsure if I hit him myself. The Spit then stalled it out and crashed into the sea (1225 – SH-P).

Boyezee damaged a few planes. At least one probable kill (about 1220 – Hurricane). Behind the Stukas he managed to shoot a Hurricane so that it had a trail of black smoke. Didn't follow the Hurricane to see if it crashed.

As for myself, I shot a piece of the tail section of a Hurricane near Dover (1215 -SD-M (unsure about the markings)). Keroth saw this. Didn't follow it to see if it crashed. I note this as a possible.

Report:
Since Berlin had given me covert tasks in the preparation towards Seelöwe, I had stepped back as Staffelleader of the 5th. I would be taking a backseat now in the Staffel and Boyezee had taken over the leadership. Sadly I can't talk about these tasks until at least late 2014, so that will have to wait for another report.

Together with Keroth as a wingman in the 1st Schwarm of Boyezee we took of from Hydrequent in good order. At Calais we saw the skies were blackened bty Stuka's. We followed them towards Dover and Deal, where we saw them drop their bombs and set the port of Dover in flames. At this time we got engaged by Hurricanes and were in almost continuous action for about 20 minutes.
First we fought Hurricanes near Dover and once the Stuka's were heading home we flew southward from Deal to the Stuka's who were under attack by Hurricanes and later also some Spitfires as described in the Victory Claims. We damaged some more planes but the ones in the claims were definitely destroyed/heavily damaged. A moment of note is that Boyezee and I had a Hurricane (1221 - no markings loaded in yet) at our mercy when we noticed he was heading back from the Channel towards Deal. We buzzed him and when we noted his plight, we broke off. Our mercy was rewarded, since this way we noticed in time several other enemies near us.

When we emerged from all that our Schwarm was intact and we got home safely. Under the leadership of Boyezee the entire Staffel had lost only 1 plane while downing several enemies. Many of the Stuka's also got back so it was indeed a great victory!

I was back in base after a 3 day vacation .
I did miss the adrenaline .
Bubi came in last second and took Flybys wing , I was assigned Krauss's wing as a Katchmaker .
A position I did not hold for a long time .
After a bumpy but successful takeoff we formed up , against better judgment and after understanding that Krauss is doing the same I have put my faith in the E4's auto prop pitch .
As a direct result , I was struggling to keep up .
Problem went away as soon as I have reverted back to manual .
I have neglected to tell everybody I caught on , a fact that made me maneuver and even overshoot , even worse , It slowed down the schwarm .
Soon enough we were engaged and I did everything I could to stick to Krausses 6 like glue .
I was marginally successful until in the heat of battle he through a tight left passed my wing , and then I lost eyes ...
I tried to re acquire his position , but failed since he was already engaged .
I heard Flyby over the wireless informing us that he was heading down mission a wing .
I followed who I thought was Bubi .
It turned out to be a tommi .
As I have maneuvered for the kill , I have suddenly heard explosions everywhere , and observed white tell tell signs of enemy tracers .
I dove down towards the deck reaching 500 K/H zigzagging to keep my follower from hitting me .
I was only partially successful , as I noticed my radiator was hit .
At that point I knew that I must RTB .
I informed acting Schwarmfurrer Bubi and got clearance to RTB , but my attacker kipped with me .
As I saw the white cliffs of Calais , I have noticed 2 things .
My attacker was gone , and my engine blue a gasket .
I nosed up to Vbg and made a crash landing over waters within a swimming distance from shore .
Although almost all my Schwarm members managed to return , I guess we still have a lot to learn .
At least I have learned that Krauss is staying with us in the 5th , so we remain organic , and we will have a chance to learn from our mistakes .

Ahh, another day another mission in my beloved 4th staffiel. Was 3rd to our leader Javelina then moved to second after Martin had an problem with a disappearing plane. We flew a bit later to the party and we came from the deal side to help the 87's out. We were below two fur balls which spitfires dived down onto each of us a Tommie sprayed his guns at me and i pulled a spin to try and get away. It was too late i had to jump out as fast as i could. The Tommies now have me trapped in prison. However, i received a letter which made me aware that a German spy was off to come break me out and get me back to France. I will await then.
