planes that I have disabled: I took a shot at Redeye and his plane went into the water I noticed his plane was in a bad shape (significant damage to his left wing), late into the mission after hearing reports of 110's being shot at I returned back towards Manston bay at around 4/5km i noticed 2 spitfires heading 240 on my 3/4 oclock so I dived and engaged them, first I dived vertically fired some shots and missed but it must of scared them, they broke and one went high and the other was slightly lower trailing him.

I boomed and zoomed multiple times I did take some hits mostly in my wings from one of them.
After a while the fight moved towards Hells corner still around 3/2km and starymuk from my schwarm was in the action, Pitti had given the order to return to base so we were very much alone as far as I was concerned I didnt want to run away we had already compromised ourselves and running away from spits at an altitude of 2km is not a decision at this point.
we stayed there for while shooting at the spits I only had my MG's at this point.

I got some hits on spit one he bailed not sure what his name was and then I turned towards this spit who I have identified to be Redeye he noticed me and made a sharp left turn so I cut into his turn burning speed fast and fired MG and hit him up I saw his chute not long after that and then I turned back to France.

On my way back mid channel I also noticed in the Kill feed/server messages that I got another partial kill I don't know who this was my only explanation is that he may of crashed on landing. think there was one hurricane or spit over Ramsgate that i took some shots at earlier on.

1 confirmed
1 partial kill with starymuk
1 unconfirmed partial kill due to pilot error/damaged plane on landing

Summary-

The best mission I have took part I could feel the adrenaline pumping having spits below and behind while climbing it was awesome,
After that epic last stand fight with the spits off of hells corner man my hands were shaking and still were while flying back to France. It felt as if there was everything to loose if I got shot down, absolutely awesome.

I had been telling Hitler for over a year, since my first flight in an Me-262, that only Focke Wulf Fw-190 fighter production should continue in conventional aircraft, to discontinue the Me-109, which was outdated, and to focus on building a massive jet-fighter force. - Galland

12.00South East of ManstonSpitfireUnknownPitti, Atreides, Esri, Keroth
Flew with the 1st Schwarm with Esri, Atreides and Keroth, after take off we met the bombers over Boulogne and escorted them to Lympe/Hawkinge - we found the area to be clear of Tommies so we patrolled the area as per our brief until we got further news.

After a brief time 6th Staffel came on the radio requesting resistance, it seems the entire RAF was around Manston and they had flown into the hornets nest, we headed over at full speed but were intercepted by 2 Spitfire's over Deal. I asked the 2nd & 3rd Schwarms to continue to Manston whilst we dealt with this troublesome pair however before long more of the buggers turned up and I called the 2nd Schwarm back over to assist us.

After an intense fight Atreides managed to shoot one of the Spitfire's down and just as quickly the sky was only full of 109's. We headed over to Manston in a loose group to assist the 6th who were still in a tough fight & had the 110's below strafing the airfield. As we arrived we spotted multiple enemy aircraft low which we engaged however despite getting good hits on a Spit no victories were confirmed.

We then re-grouped as a Schwarm east of Ramsgate before getting a call from the lone survivor of ZG76 that he was being attacked by Spitfire's south of Manston bay, Esri as usual was the 1st to spot and led the attack down, to our horror the 110's engine caught fire before our eyes as we were only moments away from the Spitfire's, I couldn't get a good shot on my target so I climbed and attacked again, this time scoring very goods hits along his aircraft as he turned across my windshield, As I climbed and looked down again to start my next run on him I witnessed 2 other 109's shoot him as he bailed out but I claim the victory as I believe my initial hits rendered him a sitting duck! - Pitti and the 1st Schwarm confirm this kill for me.

At the same time Esri had downed the other tommy so at least our fallen 110 comrade had been avenged.

We returned home together as a Schwarm with 3 confirmed kills however we suffered some losses across the Staffel, hopefully some of them made it back to france.

#rd schwarm took off and joined up and headed for Bouloogne to join with the rest of the staffel. We were directed by the gruppe commander to escort the bomber to south of Dover. After a wile on patrol in the area we were diverted towards Manston. The fight was on there. We found as much as we could handle. I lost altitude in a swirling fight with a Hurri and a Spit. I had them right where I wanted them; n my six. They'd have been dead meat but a flak round somewhere between Manston and Ramsgate ruined my controls and I could not get out. Splash on Emil. Krass and Lee both made it back. Bubi was lost due to technical difficulties. I scored another death. Great fun, but I'd like to fight with a larger formation since the Luftwaffe is outnumbered on the ACG. Might as well have local numerical superiority. don't you think?

Summary: Most of the time I spended between Dover, Deal and Manston depending on orders. Took part in multiple dogfights. First one over Deal at 5000 m with alone Hurricane. I managed to hit him with guns two times. He went down with right elevetor cut off and engine smoking. I did't follow him in the dive becasuse it was to dangerous. This was probable kill. Then I moved to Manston area to join the rest of my schwarm. Again fought with enemy fighters - Spitfires. Severly damaged two of them. Afetr Pitti ordered everybody to return home I found DUB being engaged east of Deal with two Spits c.a 2000m. I did several firing passes and hit again both of them. I confirme DUB shooting down one of them at 12.20. The other one also hit the water but not sure if it was thanks to my mg's and cannons or sombody elses. After that I returned to France and landed in Coquel. Great misson!

While there were some Hurricanes atacking our Stukas I got behind one of the guys. With big Speed advance I set up myself on his low six o'clock and closed in to 130m and opend fire. Stoped fireing after 2 seconds- no cannon Shell missed its destination. His plane trailed black smoke, lost many parts but the pilot made no effort on emergency action... I supose he was killed.
I check my six once again..Oh shit...what is that...forgot to fully open my radiador again after high speed chase was over...engine overheated .. Now quick... disengage...head south and climb to 5000 m" Half way to France the engine died. Finaly I put down my 109 down aside of Saint-Inglevert airfield. ''Phew. I'm alieve" I thought.

I also confirm that Maj. Pitti damaged a Hurricane's water cooler minutes before. Flying ca. 500m behind Pitti I watched his hits. I closed in on the Tomy after Pitti finished the attack. I was lined up for the full cannon treatment, but for some reason I said to myself: ''Mercy.. I'll give this poor devil a chance to land'': This decision proved to be a failure of myself, as he continued his attacks on the Stukas, until he suffered engine damage, because of Maj. Pittis' hits in his radiator.

I flew with swarm 1 today existing of Boyezee Atreides and Esri. After we took off we headed for where we would meet with the bombers, after we met them we started to follow them, when the bombergroup split up we followed the leftmost group, but not shortly after we had turned with the bombers we were told that the 6. was in deep trouble and need our help badly, we were very reluctant to leave our bombers but it sounded like if we did not go help them out they would get slaughtert with their whole bomberformation and from what it looked like nothing was going to happen to our bombers, so we took the choice of helping our fellow fighters, or rather we thought we took that choice us in swarm 1 actuelly never found them...

The reason for this was that when we were one our way to the group we suddenly ran into a group of spitfires, and these spitfires did surtenly not want to give up we fight going in and out, up and down, i personelly got no kills but as me and Esri were going down on a guy we allmost had the shot when out of nowhere he lost his wing and started the deathspin, aparantly Atreides came out of nowhere and smashed him up. This fight must have lasted over 5 minutes! a very exciting but also exhausting fight, the spitfires just randomly dissapeared suddenly we were sitting there only 109's no idea where they went.

We formed up and decided to now try and help the 6. over Manston. Then me and Atreides spottet something off to the side so we went to investegate while Esri and Boyezee went to Mansotn where they met enemys. After some good time we could not 100% identefy what we had seen but was quite sure it was friendly so we headed back to Manston to help the rest of the swarm but when we got there they had faught them all away. We headed back home when we saw a sigle bf 110 followed by something that did not look like something that had firendly intensions for this 110, so we dived and, after very little fighting he was dispached and we went back home where we salfly landed.

Today, the mighty 5th Satffel were again given the honour of escorting our brave bombers to England.

After the usual superbly executed take off from 3 schwarm, we headed to our rendevous point. Leading us out is Unteroffizier Flyby, with Bubi on his wing and Hauptgefreiter Lee on mine. As we approached the coast near Dover, we spotted our first contacts and unfortunatly lost Bubi to technical problems. The radio crackled into life, an urgent call spitting through the noise, we were needed at Manston.

Leading the Schwarm into a heavily infested sky of tommies, I called out my intentions and made for the first Hurricane. We alll managed to get shots off at the enemy as we manouvered for more attacks. Keeping our energy high was upmost in my mind as we tangled with a stubborn foe. Suddenly, Flyby became engaged and headed for the deck. A dangerous place to be in tommies back yard. In the confusion of another deadly dogfight, Lee lost my six and gained one on his. Luckily I had my eyes on him and sent the unpleasent tommy into a quivering dive. As I pulled up and around, I didnt judge Lee's energy state correctly and he entered a spin.

Losing my Katchmarek left me alone in the busy skies. Soon, I found the company of 2 109's and joined them for a while in a dance of death with Spifires north of Manston bay. I heard the call for assistance from the brave 110 pilots below me and dived steeply to help. As I flew dangerously low, the sad news that the last 110 had not made it came over the radio. Heading back over the channel, a small engagement was under way. Sure enough, it was the mighty 5 staffel giving the tommy spits a good roasting.

Before long, with ammo and fuel low, the call to RTB came and we headed back to our base at Hydrequent. Good news came that Lee had only a minor fuel leak and would make it back to France to fight another day. The mess was in good spirits on our return, with amazing tales of bravery from our skilled Jagdgeschwader pilots. Horrido!

Mein Gott. I'm in for it now, after this morning...

Perhaps I should explain. The beginning of today's mission was... more than a little unorthodox. My day started with me attempting to find my boots. Some bastard apparently thought it would be funny to take my boots and hide them some place. It took some time, but I eventually found them - tied to the top of the air sock pole. Perhaps some veteran pilot figured it would be funny to play a trick on one of the newbies...

And yet, that was the least of my problems that morning. We'd found out that we had another mission today. Zwei Gruppe of Jagdgeschwader 26 was tasked with escorting a massive Stuka raid across the channel this morning. We were to rendezvous with them over Bolougne-Sur-Mer, and then proceed across the channel towards Dover. From there, the Stukas would split into five seperate groups. My Schwarm, Schwarm 1, was tasked with escorting the Stukas headed towards the most westerly target in today's raids: the radar station at Rye. I was to be flying as number 3, along with Leutnant Reinhart, Obergefreiter Martinjas, and Gefreiter Orzel.

Rather embarrassingly, however... I was late for the take-off. My breakfast that morning didn't seem to agree with me very much, and I spent quite awhile stuck in the bathroom. The less said about that, the better, I think.

I'd lost track of time, and as soon as I'd gotten back out, a wave of panic swept across me, as I realized the other members of my Schwarm had already taken off without me! Members of the ground crew were having one hell of a laugh, as I scrambled to climb into my 109 - an E-1 variant, today. One of the mechanics grinned at me. "You know the Gruppenkommandeur is going to chew you up and spit you back out after hearing about this, right?"
I didn't bother answering him. Boy, did I know it. I wasn't looking forward to having to explain things to the Gruppenkommandeur. But I tried to put those thoughts aside, and focus instead on the mission. And getting back alive.

I felt a little less nervous this time around. I'd gotten through my first official sortie alright; I'd brought back the plane mostly intact, and I was still alive. I counted it as a success. All I could do was hope that today would be just as successful, or better.
Wiping a bit of sweat off my brow, I started up my engine, and waited for it to warm up. I occasionally glanced up at the sky, looking around at some of the other planes already in flight. I figured that if I could get up off the ground quickly, I could still manage to at least rendezvous with the Stukas above Bolougne. Once I'd found them, then I could concentrate on regrouping with the rest of my Schwarm.

I slowly began to taxi onto the runway, my engine suitably warmed up. It was only a short amount of time before I started to get my wheels rolling. I gripped my stick tightly, pulling it slightly to the right to compensate for the crosswind. I worked with my rudder pedals to counter-act the torque. And eventually, I was in the air.
I breathed a sigh of relief. I was still somewhat nervous about somehow screwing up my take-offs, but it was so far so good. I begun climbing, and made my way towards Bolougne.

Thankfully, I had apparently arrived just in time to catch the Stukas flying in formation above Bolougne. I regrouped with them, and flew above them, as an escort. There were various other 109 schwarms flying around, but I couldn't identify which ones were from Schwarm 1. I'd figure it out soon enough, once the Stukas split up over Dover.

Today wasn't a day for sight-seeing, however. I remained more focused this mission, than the last, constantly scanning the horizon for enemy planes. Our massive formation of Stukas was a juicy target, and Tommy was sure to be waiting for us somewhere.

The Stukas made it across the channel without any issue, however. By the time we'd arrived at Dover, the Stukas split off into five groups. I quickly identified the one headed furthest west, towards Rye, and followed them. I occasionally looked around to see if I could find my Schwarm, as well, but I couldn't find them. Perhaps my eyesight was failing me that day - or perhaps I simply wasn't looking in the right places.

As we made our way towards Rye, the Stukas were occasionally attacked by a few Hurricanes. I, along with some of the other 109s in the vicinity, made some occasional dives on the Tommies. But I must confess, I was quite nervous. Anxiety washed over me, sweat dripped down my face, and my hands were practically shaking. I could hardly keep my course straight. I had dived on a couple of Hurricanes, but my gunnery had failed me. None of my shots hit any of the Hurricanes. They did, however, at least deter them from the Stukas; at least for a time.

This particular situation made me think about how bad our Stuka pilots actually had it. All I know is I'm glad I'm flying a 109, and not sitting in one of those crates, as fodder for the Tommies.

After the attack, the Hurricanes seemed to run off. I saw one or two Stukas still airborne, that had begun a dive. I wasn't sure where the rest of the group was, however. I'd eventually lost the Stukas completely. I was constantly scanning below me, trying to place the outlines of planes against the darkness of the sea, and the terrain of England. After looking for a fair amount of time, Leutnant Reinhart chimed in over the comms. Schwarm 1 was to regroup over Dungeness, and from there, we would head back across the channel, towards France.

I was quite relieved. Finally, I was to regroup with my Schwarm, and I wouldn't be stuck alone out here, for a pair of Tommy's to have their way with me. I turned my crate around, and made my way towards Dungeness. It didn't take me long to find another plane from JG26. I assumed it was Reinhart - it looked like Reinhart. But I couldn't place the number on the side of his plane, as he was a bit of a distance away. Regardless, he was headed towards Dungeness, and his chatter over the radio seemed to indicate that it was him.

This is where things took a turn for the worst. Before we were able to regroup with Martinjas and Orzel, we were bounced by... I don't even know what. Hurricanes? Spitfires? Some kind of enemy fighter. One second, we were flying towards Dungeness, skies clear and empty, and the next, red-coloured tracers were whizzing past my cockpit. The Indianer schweine came out of nowhere! I rolled over, and went for a Split-S, in an attempt to evade. Doing so, I managed to get away - sort of. I quickly looked around, and noticed that there were a few bullet holes in each of my wings. Looking back behind me, I also noticed that I was streaming water behind me as I flew. Glancing at my temperatures, I noticed my water radiator's was climbing steadily. The Tommy bastard shot my radiator!

On the bright side, it wasn't me overheating my own engine, this time. But it easily could have been me taking a bullet, rather than the radiator. My heart was beating like crazy, sweat dripping down my brow. I heard the Leutnant screaming over the radio. His plane had caught on fire, after being ambushed by the Tommies. He had to bail out.

I could only hope that he made it out safely. He would have probably been captured by the Tommies. But perhaps he'd gotten lucky, and was rescued somehow...

After getting my radiator shot, I knew I couldn't stick around. I had to head back across the Channel. The mission was done by now, so there was no point in sticking around here any longer, to get shot up by more Tommies. I glanced around, and checked my six often, making sure that those enemies who had shot me up weren't still on my tail. To my relief, everything looked clear. After that initial attack, they had decided to leave me alone. Either that, or they'd simply lost me.

Whatever the case, I was glad I hadn't been shot. I loosened my grip on the flight stick, and continued on across the channel, towards France. After a moment, I started laughing. I'm not sure why. Perhaps I was just grateful to have gotten away with nothing more than a few bullet holes in my wings, and a damaged radiator. I laughed almost halfway across the Channel, before I'd gotten a grip of myself, and simply focused on keeping my crate airborne.

I was able to get feet dry before my engine started shaking like mad. I had under 800 meters of altitude by now, and it was declining fast. It was time to find somewhere to put the plane down.

I didn't spend much time looking for a nice spot to land. I settled for a wheat field next to a small town close to the coast. Framzelle, I believe it was. I brought my plane in slowly for an emergency landing, deciding against extending my landing gear. I tried to keep focused as I went in for the landing - all the shaking had given me another major headache.

Slowly, slowly, my plane made it's way towards the ground... and suddenly, a thunk, as I made contact. But I hadn't stopped. I wasn't dragging across the ground. I looked around, and noticed that my plane had bounced! Glancing fearfully ahead, I could see the village of Framzelle getting closer and closer to me...

I screamed. I'm not ashamed to admit that. I was terrified that I would drive the plane into some poor innocent family's house, ending both their lives, and mine. In a moment of panic, I pushed forward somewhat on the stick, and drove the plane down into the ground yet again. The airscrew caught into the dirt, and broke. This time, the plane didn't bounce, and instead slid towards the house. I continued screaming until I'd come to a full stop - only about a meter away from the side of the house.

I could feel my heart pounding rapidly in my chest. I was breathing quickly, my eyes wide, hand gripped to the stick tightly. I simply sat there like that for a few minutes, in somewhat of a shock, before I was finally able to calm myself down, and open my canopy up, stunned.

Remaining sat in my plane, I glanced over to the left. Many villagers from Framzelle had seen the plane coming down, and had arrived to see what had happened. Most of them had shocked expressions on their faces. Some of them even looked relieved - though I'm not sure if it was because I'd survived, or because I hadn't crashed into a house. Quite a few others gave me a scornful look. After all, some people didn't take too kindly to Germans, after we occupied their country...

Among the crowd were a few German soldiers, who had run over to investigate. One of them walked up to me, glancing into the cockpit. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?", he asked.

I shook my head, groaning a bit from my headache. "No, I'm... fine, thank you. Just a bit of a headache." With that, I slowly began to climb out of the plane, and planted my feet into the dirt. Occasionally, I glanced back at the house just a meter away from me, stunned that I hadn't flown right into it, but relieved that I was still alive.

I began laughing again - although it was more of a chuckle this time. I couldn't believe that I'd survived. That one of those Tommy bullets hadn't gotten me, and that I hadn't died 'cause of a botched landing. I was very, very relieved. I looked back at the plane, at the white number 7 painted on the side. Maybe Lady Luck was on my side.

The thought made me grin. Though, another thought soon replaced it. The grin was wiped clean off of my face, as I remembered this morning; the moments before I had taken off.

Scheisse... I'm going to be scrubbing the latrines for weeks...
