The new season seems to require us to buy our cars. Is this intentional? I can just about afford to buy one of the 1970's cars, and don't really have time to earn more moolah in single player to do this. If this is as intended I shall compete in an escort...

And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.

I have no money either. I started the whole thing in my Opel.

Well, I managed to get to the end. Just had time yesterday to practice a little on sections 1 and 2 in my Ford escort, but then sections 3-6 were done blind with just my co-drivers course notes for guidance. I'll stick a video up of one of the sprint stages to remind people that this is happening. You got any vids Thaine?

No. Unfortunately not. I'll record the next time.

But I managed to do my first good Scandinavian Flick on a Finnland Rally with my Lancia .

I didn't intend for owned cars to be required only allowed. There's next to zero documentation on this stuff and the UI is very vague. If you want I can cancel the season and make it again starting at Wales (I doubt anyone wants to drive Monte Carlo a third time in a row).

I meant for the faster racers to be class restricted as a handicap but I never got around to testing how many seconds the difference is. Annoyingly I missed the entire event 1. Please say if this more careful creation felt more natural as a stage ordering.

Stage ordering was great, and I quite enjoyed the challenge of getting used to the Escort. If it's a hassle to change things then I'm happy to go through the rest of this season using it, but for anyone picking up the game to have a go now (as Bonkin and Dave have suggested they might) then I don't know if they'll even be able to afford the 70s cars - I could only do it because I've done a few events in single-player. In the interest of getting more drivers it might be worth a do-over.

Either way, this is all experimental at this stage so no probs, and thanks for making the effort to set it up at all :nice:
