Alas Herr Donkez it's the same pub.

I got drafted to the staff of Flag Officer Gibraltar in 1979. When I got back back to Blighty I had almost a month and a half leave. Don (the Bears landlord) offered me a job behind the bar. Even now I can`t remember a lot of it! The Macc-Lads played there regularly. I gave my job to their manager Bill Smith. When my leave was over and I had to join the Submarine school at HMS Dolphin.

Ah, those sound like great days indeed. Inevitably the best nights out are paid for with amnesia...

Added you as well Nails, thanks! Just like with other flight sims, flying alone sucks. Flying with others is grand.

Some people (max of 12 on the server) have been able to play some 3.0 (most say it was "fun").

CiG have released a couple of "Meet the ......." videos over the past two days:

Meet the Ursa Rover:

Meet the Aopoa Nox:

Meet the Cutlass Black:

Meet the Prospector (note a mysterious lifeform between 0.42-0.48):

I'm off for my tea!

This was a bit of a suprise. Shameless plug by CiG though advertising their own RSI 60fps webcam! From what I can gather though, this is being worked on by a separate team, which has not been "poached" from elsewhere. This development will not impact SC's current state.

I love the tech, and how this kind of stuff comes along at warp speed. Not sure if I would use it though.

A point of interest, Mark, the tall lanky ginger (splashed with distinguished grey) who's joined ACG at Duxford for a couple of years now is the coding genius behind the facial animation rigs for Star Citizen, amongst other games:

On the subject of Star Citizen, as soon as the game is playable from an exploratory planetary PoV, I'll be in like a shot - but not before I add DVT to my medical insurance :D

Thanks for that Bunny - great stuff!

Here we have Steve "Old Man" Colton (Mark Hamill) modelling the ACG Squadron 42 Flight Suit!

Brilliant stuff! Their character modelling is top notch! I can't wait for the fully fledged game - give me planets to explore on foot and I'm a happy camper :B:

I have received permission from Dickie to create an ACG presence in Star Citizen. I wanted to do this in case the ACG moniker got taken. It just so happens that I could create an ACG group, but could not use ACG for the forums as it had already been taken by a group called "Anti Casual Gamers". So for our forum use, I had to call it ACGROUP.

As it stands. Our Group is not formal. You can come and go as you please. There is not requirement to attend any campaign, or have to meet on certain days of the week, at a specific time. However, this could change if the demand is there. Very much a case of sucking it and see. I certainly don't intend spending half my life babysitting the Group!

Image
The ACG Group (which can be amended on the fly) is currently setup as follows:

Organisation Name: ACG
Archetype: PMC (Private Military Company)
Spectrum ID: ACGROUP
Language: English
Commitment: Casual
Role Play: No
Introduction virtūs et honos (Strength & Honour)

The forum ID ACG has already been taken by a Syndicate called Anti Casual Gamers. With limited characters I called the Group ACGROUP (this is permanent and cannot be changed).

Roles were left at default (I think you can change these as required)

PMC Roles:
General
Officer
Recruiter
Marketing

Ranks (were also left default, but I think you can rename these)
Colonel
Major
Warrant Officer
Sergeant
Private
Recruit

(Activities = These can be changed as required (you select from a drop down menu, which I will list further on))
Activites
Primary: Social
Secondary: Exploration

Introduction:
Air Combat Group - Star Citizen PMC - virtūs et honos (Can be edited at any time)
A place for friends to chill when not living in 1940
Visit us : http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk

Membership Visibility:
Redacted (but can be made visible if required)

Notes

Archetype

For ACG I chose PMC

Corporation:
A for-profit business entity. A corporation is a great choice for everything from shipping flo-pets to Goss II to organising a hostile takeover of Origin Jumpworks.

PMC:
Private Military Company. For organisations with a taste for combat. Focuses for PMCs include escorting cargo runs, hunting for pirates or helping the UEE take on the Vanduul.

Faith:
Organisations that have come together for a single cause or under a single banner. This could be rebels fighting for Terran Independence …. Or the devout followers of the LAMP!

Syndicate:
Common interest groups for those who operate on the edges (or outside) the law. There’s safety in numbers when you’re moving contraband through Spider or preying on hapless cargo ships.

Organisation:
Want to make your own way without any previous association? Feel free to leave your group’s Archetype blank!

Archetypes are a roleplaying element and do not impact the actual functioning of the organisation; you’ll still be free to
Organise your group as you wish regardless of which type you chose.

Activities
Activities were taken from a drop down menu. You have A primary and Secondary choice (both contain the same activity). I initially have ACG Primary as Social, and Secondary as Exploration (these can change as required). I selected them during initial setup so I could proceed with setting up the Group.

Bounty Hunting
Engineering
Exploration
Freelancing
Infiltration
Piracy
Resources
Scouting
Security
Smuggling
Social
Trading
Transport

How to join: I don't know! I sill spend the next 5 minutes cobbling some instructions together!
