I would say that it has improved quite a bit since it's release. Granted that's from second hand experience, as I did a lot of reading on subsim.com and the official forums when it released. I just remember reading that it was riddled with bugs, and needed quite a bit of work. I didn't buy it at the time as I was pretty irritated with Ubisoft's choice in terms of DRM.Dave wrote:I haven't played SH5 since it was first released. So, fast forward to present time and the devs have done quite a bit of patching since release. Also, the DRM is gone and there are tons of mods out there for the game now days. If I'm not mistaken there is an unofficial patch with more bug fixes, but I could be thinking of another game. Also, I bought it on sale for 5 dollars, and then read that the disc version is more desirable than the Steam version for modding purposes, and so now I own both.
Either way if you're a fan of the sub sim genre, I'd have to recommend trying it again. Especially since you already own it.
