*Takes one step forward*
Volunteering for the twenty-minuters, Sir!
Volunteering for the twenty-minuters, Sir!
I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.

Just tried the Airco DH2 out, rear visibility is pretty poor and to be expected the compass is in an awkard place! but fun to fly, just need to get my landings sorted and practice some combat - does any one have on tips on how to fly this bird?
I think it is probably a good idea to have a little 29 Squadron test session before we start campaign, make sure we all know what we are doing (because I won't )

Damn right! It's going to take some practice to hit the balance between 'too fast' and 'stalled out like a noob' when coming in to land

I’m in if I can sort out Pat Wilson
Always above, seldom on the same level, never underneath.

My tips on the D.H.2 is that you have to imagine yourself driving a motorboat with wings slapped on it. If you get my meaning you'll learn very quickly not to put your nose up on takeoff. Keeping it straight and level should make it automatically float upwards until you gain full control.
To me this plane acts more like a hovercraft than a fighter. It can't dive or even turn very well. But I found most of my successes in "swooping".
Instead of diving behind your foe climb up to stalling speed, then use your rudder to slot down behind the Hun for a quick squirt, then climbing back up to swoop again. Dont "Boom and Zoom" the engine is too underpowered.
When sufficiently bled of energy I slot in behind him and wrestle him in a classic ww1 dogfight. Note - fighter in question being Eindeckers I haven't met the Albatross in combat and survived yet.

Pat Wilson is only necessary if you intend to host and lead a squadron. You just need to show up and connect to the server if you wish to fly.Nev wrote:I’m in if I can sort out Pat Wilson
Good to have you onboard.
I would still recommend PWCG as it's great for offline careers.
