A patrol south was cut short when we were bounced by two Albatri. We battled and they were ultimately destroyed by Pariah. The last when he used his plane, expertly, to ram the rear section. Unfortunately his plane broke apart and he fell 50ft but lived to tell the tale. We lost 2nd Lt Dick 'Nev' Wensleydale in this action as well. Secu and Broadsword were injured.

This was to be a balloon busting mission deep into enemy territory. Unfortunately we were bounced by about eight Albatri and had to fight for our lives. All of 29 gave a good account of themselves but sadly only Pariah put any down. One crashed landed and the other was forced down when Capt Leonard 'Pariah' Mallard slowly nudged it when he was out of ammo. The Albatros spiralled over and down, eventually collided with the ground.

Capt Leonard 'Pariah' Mallard
Lt Archibald 'Secu' Fulmer
2nd Lt Dillon 'Nev' Pinty
2nd Lt Miles 'Bully' Swan

An offensive mission this time deep in enemy territory, but of course we were headed off before we got there. Three Albatri and it was a short and deadly fight. Secu put paid to one Albatros and then Pariah flew straight threw the rudder of one of the others. The Albatros crashed and Pariah had to glide down without an engine. All three pilots survived.

This mission was flown by:
Capt Leonard 'Pariah' Mallard
Lt Archibald 'Secu' Fulmer
2nd Lt Billy 'Broadsword' Flopp

Claims:
Capt Leonard 'Pariah' Mallard claims 1 x Albatros D.III

This was to be a balloon busting mission. We flew over Lens into enemy territory and took out two of their balloons. Broadsword claiming one and Pariah the other. Then, on the way back, we came across a lone Albatros following us. Pariah couldn't turn with him so sacrificed his own defence to allow the other two to get hits into him. Secu eventually getting the final hits in that killed the engine. Unfortunately Pariah's blood lust was up and he had to get some hits into the lone German. This resulted in him turning into his flight path and two aircraft becoming lots of bits of aircraft.

This mission was flown by:
Capt Leonard 'Pariah' Mallard - KIA
Lt Archibald 'Secu' Fulmer
2nd Lt Billy 'Broadsword' Flopp

Claims:
Capt Leonard 'Pariah' Mallard claims 1 x Balloon posthumously
2nd Lt Billy 'Broadsword' Flopp claims 1 x Balloon
Lt Archibald 'Secu' Fulmer claims 1 x Albatros D.III

I thought I claimed the Albatross in the first sortie? I ran out of bullets, then nudged him with my prop and we both glided down...

I must go up to the skies again, to the peace of silent flight, To the gull’s way, and the hawk’s way, and the free wings’ delight;
And all I ask is a friendly joke with a laughing fellow rover, And a large beer, and a deep sleep, when the long flight’s over.
