Valve Index

Post by Donkey » Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:27 pm

So I went and got myself an index. Just the HMD as I already have a vive and therefore don't need the base stations and controllers ... which meant it was a more reasonable £459 as opposed to £900+.

It's incredible.

Screen door effect pretty much gone (you really have to look for it), all dials and instruments easily legible in BoX (not tried DCS yet), bigger FOV than the vive, comfortable to wear, surprisingly good sound.

Not sure I would have chosen it above a Rift S if I had to pay full price, but if you already have a Vive ... do it.

I don't wear them, but I can tell you that the screens are on a mechanical gear which allows you to move them closer/further from your face. The further away they are the less FOV you have, so there is a trade off. As an aside plenty of people who wear specs used my Vive without problems though.
